  • you my friend have found yourself an STH-10 3 phase motor and on top of that one that sounds the attack signal nice find not many are found now days

  • Is it my laptop or is your camera's sound recording a bit funky?

  • this was more and likey made in the early to mid 60s, later 3-phase models came with a 7.5HP motor, earlier models, like this is an old model and has a 10HP motor

fun fact: the STH and STL both have a 22inch rotor

  • Federal Signal STH-10.

  • Almost seems to me like something inside is catching on the horn assembly, making it shake on windup. Weird how it does that...

  • @bytor55110 most likely it is the torque of the motor causing the whole assembly to twist. This happens with a lot of sirens like this.

  • sth-10.

  • What kind of zoom you got on that camera? Pretty good quality for 480p.

  • the siren is a federal STH-10. you can tell by it having a single row of horns with a motor on top. these siren s are well known for having very long wind-downs. that STH-10 sounds great!

  • Lookit that thing shake!

  • This siren would be a Federal Signal STH-10. These are no longer made. Federal Signal quit making em in 2006.

  • @Siren1000T1 STH-10A to be more exact. It's a later model with the Marathon 10hp three-phase motor on it, just like all the newer Model 5s have (what we all call Model "7"s). Sounds like she's running on a 480V power service too, very fast windup.

  • @murrfarms Yeah I know this is 3 phase.
