"Kavod lishma ...." ("It is honorable to hear...") the prayer he recites after the blowing of the shofar on Rosh HaShana is from the Hebrew liturgy of Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur. I believe he is asking that our hearing of this shofar should call us to repentance and help us to attain a "kapporah" - a forgiveness of our sins.
The single note of the shofar represents pure prayer - like a cry of a child for its mother and father.
