Music by adults for adults, and as good as it gets. The album from which this track is taken, Skol (on Pablo), recorded in Copenhagen in 1979, is a joy from start to finish.
I don't believe this combo. Too good to be true. I kind of have a hard time believing how good it is, but that sounds like Joe and Stephane, I'm not as familiar with Oscar but still....
c'est le sommet du jazz avec Oscar Peterson et son trio, surtout lorsque Stéphane Grappelli s'en mèle. Un moment suprème, magnifique, l'avenir nous offrira-t-il un tel groupe de musiciens aussi talentueux?
What a rendition of a beautiful song. I think Django would have been very proud to hear his song so brilliantly interpreted. Maybe even more so to hear his old bandmate's cadenza at the end.
@williamanesbitt cool comment, It was obvious for me and for everybody that Grappelli was an awesome musician, but after that cadenza i´m speechless, I never heard him play so incredibly. He never ceased to improve!
nice soft jazz, tenderly ... great musicians are only able playing soamazing chords like them... highclass arrangement, i was enjoying to listen them, thanks for posting
He he - I knew what the album was by the first two or three notes. I love it - 'skol' or 'skol blues' recorded in Tivoli, Copenhagen. Pablo Records I think.
I am a guitar player, but i think the violin is one of he most beautiful instruments in the world. More so when it played by lightened being as Stephane Grapelli
Oscar and Stephane are backed by Niels Pederson[B], Joe Pass {G}, and Mickey Roker[D]. This session demonstrates wonderful interplay between some of the true giants on the jazz world. Thank you for the posting.
Is this available on any album?

Some people should be allowed to live to 150. But we do have the recordings.
