@Hemorraghe We used to do a through blue model, but now it's just the through green, black and white available as new. I guess you will still find some of the blue models out there though.
Well I love the pickups, they really do sing and the vibrato unit is the most stable non-locking trem I have ever used. It's also a really comfortable neck
I got one of these ages ago and never really used it. After i saw you do this at music live i went out got a set of the thickest strings i could find tuned it down to drop B and now its my top guitar through my randall stack. I can't get enough of the wilkinson pickups.
The Trem handles it really well I had to reintonate the guitar and adjust the truss rodd very slightly but that was it and it works brilliantly i have to tune it once for every 6 hour playing time and I really abuse the trem when I use it. I really want to try the fixed bridge version because i generally find them more comfy then trems. I personally think the guitar was made to go down to lower tunings it just responds so muh better when its tunned lower the sound is more of a £1000 plus guitar
I have just done a test too see how low I can take the trem version of this guitar before getting major problems. the lowest i have got it is drop F. When i get some thicker strings I will try and go lower.
hi mate,, nothing to do with tuning or staying in tune but, does this have a low/thinker E string that vibrates out of tune for second then goes to pitch? or is it stable like normal? Have you come across this problem before cause I've played things like les paul copies(not vintage ones) that have this wierd E string that when played just vibrates out of pitch anoyingly. wierd question but i need your your pro feedback before i buy this geetar
Hi mate, and thanks for your kind comments. Yes, I have come across the problem you describe on some guitars- generally it's because the tension of the E string is too slack, which is why guitarists who down tune use much thicker gauge strings.
However, if you pick too hard on any guitars open strings, you will bend the string slightly, and therefore cause it to go out of pitch for an instant.
I've not had this problem occur on any of the guitars I've demonstrated though.
I would say this guitar would be ideal for most of the influences you list above. It's certainly a very easy guitar to play and my favourite from the standard Vintage range.
Gav your playing on this is really cool - love the tone middle way through reminds me of Santana and Gary Moore through a Mesa Mark III
Can I ask something...
When will JHS / Vintage do an advance model of this guitar? Also WHERE in Asia / Pacific stocks the JHS stuff? Hong Kong / Vietnam / anywhere? Thailand even?
The guitar scene in Shanghai is very very dodgy I want to send you photos about it!!
Im really interested in the VRS :D! But i need a new amp first since mine is shi....:(. The guitar seems awesome though! I've read good reviews and stuff.
hey man how do you compare the sustain between this and the vintage v100?
wretcheddog 5 months ago
@wretcheddog very similar, although a fixed bridge will usually win the 'endless sustain' battle..

Wow, drop B? How does the trem handle it - have you blocked it off, or do you have the fixed bridge version? Cheers for watching.

Hi Rick - Thanks for you kind comments - I keep asking Trev for an Advance Series model - but no luck yet I'm afraid.
We have no distribution network in the far east at the moment - which is kinda bizarre seeing as the country of origin is China!
