  • just listening to this piece of art makes you feel like the coolest person on earth,

THAT ENDING GIVE ME CHILLS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • It's one thing to learn this at the age of 17.. But to write a CLASSIC at the age of 17 is just insane.

  • @calebandstef /watch?v=aHytdih0em0 is classic (I wrote this when I was 16) but I love aslo becker he is my biggest influest

  • @dorianmentzer1 and malmsteen's bound to the rules made by jason

  • holy shit, i am in fucking ecstasy right now listening to this. there are no words to describe how amazing this is.

  • SOME PEOPLE PLAYS LIKE MALMSTEEN AND LOVES THE CLASSIC MUSIC BECAUSE MALMSTEEN LIKE IT. AND JASON BECKER IS ONE OF THEM. MALMSTEEN IS AN ELECTRIC GUITARIST NOT SEGOVIA... ALL THE THING THAT MALMSTEEN DOES BECOMES RULES.

  • My no.1 fav guitar song ever!!!!

  • True, pure music can speak without the need of lyrics. When you can accomplish that then you are a musical genius. This song speaks for itself...

  • @neilvankleeff i agree bro this is real music to the fullest lil wayne can eat a fucking dick and choke on it hes the reason iam not proud to be black

  • @GEO2DOPE You shouldn't be proud to be black. You didn't do anything to be black, and you didn't choose it. You have no right to be proud of it. I'm not proud that I'm white, I just am white. We should be proud of things that matter.

    JASON BECKER

  • JASON BECKER IS D GREATEST.

  • Jason Becker is so awesome!!!

  • How can a single person be able to compose such a song? Amazing

  • Jason Becker is a Genius! I hope they find a cure for his disease.

  • Jason Becker Best Guitarist EVER Hope you get Better Soon..

  • @D3stroyer891 C'mon man ARE YOU FUCKING SERIOUS?! Get better soon? gotta be kiddin...

  • @HaoSkywalker actually last year he recoverd a few muscles and there are few cases of people actually recovering fully. It would amazing if this happened to Becker

  • @westjt17 ARE YOU FOR REAL?! JASON ACTUALLY RECOVERED MUSCLES?! Sorry for the caps it's just that he's my idol and that's amazing news to hear!

  • @KISSAceGenePaulPete1 yes, i think it was 3 muscles and he gained 40 lbs. it is amazing. i think his website said something about it

  • @westjt17 It would be miraculous if he made a full recovery, but his muscles would be very weak guys. He's have to learn how to do everything, again. Even guitar. But i'm really looking foward to "Not Dead Yet" also.

  • @KISSAceGenePaulPete1 It would be truly miraculous and quite unheard of for him to recover. No-one really recovers from ALS so let's not get our hopes up, just accept and support him as he is now :)

  • @KISSAceGenePaulPete1 FUCK YEAH HE DID!!!

  • I think he was something like 18 when he wrote this? Simply astonishing...

  • He's the modern day Mozart.

  • Bach would be proud.

  • holy shit , he found the guitar's g-spot

  • The ending is so spiritual.

  • This makes we wanna go play guitar, more. wow

  • Some people want to play like Malmsteen, this is how Malmsteen wants to play.

  • @cozkul

Respectable opinion, but I consider Malmsteen to be at a higher phase than Becker. Indeed Becker is a virtuoso guitarist, with great comprehension and understanding of the instrument, but Malmsteen is just the master of the Harmonic and Phyrgian. Both are great, but Malmsteen's articulation and technique is better then Becker's. I respect your statement, but I believe Malmsteen to be the better of the two.

  • @itchie88 lol, i was not really serious about that Malmsteen would actually want to play like this, everyone has their own style of expressing music. I just find Jason's music more personal and communicative, that's probably because Jason didn't have to deal with all those record companies, and he created much less compositions as he felt them. you're right about articulation and technique, but i believe that is due to the difference of time spent with the instrument.

  • @cozkul

Haha. My bad. I agree with everything you said.

  • @itchie88 no no. its my bad. this is youtube and you could never known that I was not serious in my first comment :D. anyways long live metal :D

  • @cozkul Hell Yeah! Metal! \m/ \m/

  • @cozkul you're fucking right mann

  • the counterpoint at 2:53 is just crazy!

  • Are all parts played on two guitars or one, or is it switching? I cant tell

  • @Swedguy97 everything up to 1:50 is one guitar...after that it's two. pure brilliance regardless...

  • The best masterpiece ever...

  • there is no bach there is only zoul-jk, love bach, and this guy too

  • *Listens to the very beginning* Hey, that seems easy to play!

*Listens to rest of song* ........Wut.

  • fuerzas jason ... una verdadera inspiracion musical y de vida

  • who are the 6 dislikes?

  • my god this is gorgeous

  • jason rules

  • Jason Becker is the God of the guitar !! LONG LIVE JASON !! WE ARE WITH YOU !! =)

  • I swear the best people are always the ones who die or aren't able to play due to something in music. Becker, Darrell, Schuldiner, Cliff, etc.

  • He wrote this piece when he was what, 17 18 years old? Haha, I mean c'mon, how genius can you get? This song is pure.

  • the best, don't give a shit if any one one likes's this or not cos this isn't what matters..... I'm 19 AND WOW TAKE ME BACK JASON BECKER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Nothing can compare....maybe apart from Paganini......but a mastermind which a genius only can come come close, a long every couple of hundred years, and Jason was ours!!! Fuck God... Practice for ever... that's what it takes................

  • @N0SUK Yeah, natural talent has nothing to do with it.

  • The ending 40 seconds of this is the most beautiful guitar work ever made.

  • oh my god that ending is so awesome! i hope jason is not sad but proud when he hears this

  • 5 persons must die!! Absolutly Amazing

  • Comment removed

  • @CASGDARK You should check out Jeff Loomis and Michael Romeo.

  • @CASGDARK dude check out shawn lane too, jason, shawn, and marty are my three favorite players

  • @CASGDARK Totally fucking agreed!

  • there are many very technically proficient guitarists out there, but there are very few musicians in general that are out there that really contribute something incredible to the world of music. this guy is one of them. he gets it. he's a genius. van halen and hendrix were geniuses in their own right because of the way the expanded technique and the overall sound of the guitar, but this guy is a musical genius. his compositions are amazing.

  • he wrote this when he was 17...... fuck

  • This is totally diffeent that Yngwie Malmsteen's works in terms of "neoclassical". Yngwie's guitarworks sounds like licks and passages lifted straight from some of Paganini or Bach's pieces. This piece of "air" however, seems be me like Bach himself wrote another song in the style of baroque

  • There's another shred style virtuoso guitarist that reminds quite of Becker - Josh Christian from Toxik.

  • Jason and Marty are my favorite guitarists of all time!

  • @Greenmagneticmoon mee too...life is unfair.

  • ...And on the 8th day, Jason Becker said "Take a break god, thanks for covering for me."

  • Beautiful piece of music, my Dad used to play a little bit to me on the guitar and it'd make me choke every time.

  • watch?v=_tsWSLAm348

  • youtube.com/watch?v=_tsWSLAm348

  • PeRfEcTOOOO

  • I listen classic music, And I have to admit: Jason Becker is A Genius.

  • i really like it up until 1:15 then i still like it but not as much

  • @TOYDOLLSKID How...I don't even...That's the best par-...H-h...How...?

  • @shenkeey Probably because he is not interested in the same thing. He likes the slow, light, bland part. He's not really in it for technical guitar work.

  • @AtariMaxiToriyama Yeah I guess, but it's so awesome so weird for me haha <3

  • I appreciate this a lot, but I hear comparable guitar work every time I listen to power metal.

  • @AtariMaxiToriyama Honestly I don't agree, it's not really comparable because this is on another level (I normally listen to other music, so don't think Im just taking beckers side ;3) :)

  • @shenkeey What does "another level" mean, exactly? It is not melodically superior to my ears, and it doesn't sound technically superior, either.

I know I'm gonna get slammed for this, but when I listen to Dragonforce, I hear technicality and melody, but with more energy than this. And don't get me wrong: I'm not knocking this for not having energy, that's not what this is going for.

But when I can hear something that has energy, and is technical and melodic, I just go for power metal.

  • @AtariMaxiToriyama It's just more original and stuff, much like bach :) But I'm not gonna hate, because I've been in that powermetal-fase too and it rocked like hell! :)

  • @shenkeey If it's like Bach -- bare with me, now -- then how is it original? Ho ho hoooo.

But seriously, a lot of power metal has what we call "neo-classical flurries," wherein the guitarist breaks out into a classical segment, oftentimes directly lifted from Bach or Beethoven. Now I know what you're thinking: "If it's lifted from them, it's not unique!"

Sure, but how many of Beethoven's works have you heard? What about Bachs? What about the dozens of other classical composers? Not many, I bet.

  • @AtariMaxiToriyama Techniquewise its like bach, but the work is different.

Listen, I've been to that fase too! And actually; i listen to deathmetal and stuff too, so i know what im talking about haha :)

And to make things clear; I've played piano since the age of 5 every day for 3 hours at least; and I can say with confidence that I know most of the pieces out there :) Especially from Bach, Beethoven, Mozart, Chopin, Rachmaninoff etc :)

  • @AtariMaxiToriyama Dragonforce is c0ck metal sir..

  • @sirsean1227 If I argued with everyone who just jumped on the "Dragonforce sucks" bandwagon, I would argue until I died.

  • @AtariMaxiToriyama difference is when you hear jason becker you hear notes flying around beutifully, when you hear dragonforce you hear tones get kicked out of the guitar for no reason O_o.

  • @Ramboaction I suppose if you want to believe that, but I am a huge fan of music. I listen to what I listen to because it's energetic, technical, and melodic.

So it is my opinion that Dragonforce makes plenty of guitar solos that "fly around beautifully," but that, I suppose, is where we would have to agree to disagree.

I don't suppose you hold any other power metal band to a high standard either, though? (Rhapsody of Fire, Solar Fragment, Angra, Aquaria, Twilightning, Ancient Bards, etc)

  • @AtariMaxiToriyama People diss them because they dont play clean or in sync live, yet they are considered the greatest shredders ever when cacophony blew them out of the water

  • @TerrorizerGrindspeed See, but why are you saying that? Just search their most recent stuff on Youtube and you can clearly hear that they play excellently live. I actually prefer some of their live stuff to the studio version.

Saying that they cannot play well live is irrelevant, not only because it is not true, but because 98% of the time, you are going to be listening to the studio recording.

And once again, who cares what everyone else thinks? They sound good, what else matters?

  • @AtariMaxiToriyama Yeah exactly, their most recent stuff lol, check out their videos around when they started getting noticed, pretty terrible, of course theyre on it now, theyve had 3+ years to shape up their shit

  • @TerrorizerGrindspeed Everyone knows, though, that their first concert was awful because they could barely hear their own instruments, among other problems.

Now, I don't really care about the band on a personal level. They could all be drug-dealing crack-headed drunkards and it wouldn't bother me because I don't really have any interesting in defending a reputation.

I just feel that they are being unfairly lambasted. If you want to insult a band, insult Stratovarius' first couple albums.

  • @AtariMaxiToriyama Nawww not their first concert man they played terrible at wacken, but awww cmon I know timo sounds alot like malmsteen but he is a pretty good guitar player man

  • master

  • oooooooooooooooooooo excelente =)

  • I wonder why everyone just supposes Bach does everything...

  • @rampage222555 Study his music for a couple of years and you'll find out.

  • i love when me and my guitar teacher will bring this up... we really cant finish our sentences when we try to describe this

  • @realmsceo From what I've heard he is still composing on a computer by using hardware and software which tracks his eye movement. Too bad it goes so slowly though. He's only released 3 new songs since Perspective.

  • I love Becker. Amazing solos and make my day happy.

  • Jason didn´t learned to play guitar...guitar learned to express those WOUNDERFUL melodies JASON had inside him! There´s NO ONE like him......NO ONE!!!!!

  • I'm not usually emotional, but when I listen to this and think about Becker's condition, it just makes me wanna cry

  • This is just pure genius. Becker is the Bach of Metal.

  • If I could meet jason I would be SO happy

  • I bet 10 $ that Yngwie Malmsteen could never write or play this song

Man and Jason Becker wrote that at the age of 19

  • I tell my teachers that listening to music is good for your mind when doing work, and they say "only if you're listening to Classical music" and I say "FUCK your classical music, I listen to Jason Becker music!" then I hop on the teachers desk, I whip out my horrid and disgusting penis thats riddled with filth and parasites as I yell "RIDING ON A MURSHAQ BACK!", and all the children run out the room screaming. My teacher fired me, and never let me substite his classes again....

  • @MuhammadSweepmez I guess we all have been through something like that at least once or twice. It's very common.

  • @MuhammadSweepmez How can you hate classical music that jason beckers loves??? you're a noob apprentice

  • @cesarecf calm down, its a joke. lol

  • @MuhammadSweepmez Cool Username :o

  • @KARVAKY thankya, the 'sweepmez' is quite funny doncha think?

  • @MuhammadSweepmez Yh indeed it sound funny and weird, but it suits Suiçmez pretty well. ;)

  • @KARVAKY It sure does lol :D

  • @MuhammadSweepmez Quite possibly the BEST comment I've ever read bro... Keep preaching Jason's music!!!

  • @MuhammadSweepmez hey how'd you know what i did last thursday?

  • @MuhammadSweepmez your teacher was an asshole

  • @MuhammadSweepmez I had that happen too. But it was followed by a session of violent Scat Rape.

  • @MuhammadSweepmez awesome story man :)

  • @MuhammadSweepmez i did the same :)

  • @MuhammadSweepmez Yeah man I never knew why people get so mad over that. people just over-react sometimes....

  • @MuhammadSweepmez is this suposed to be a joke? lol.

  • @MuhammadSweepmez Cool name, bro.

  • I jizzed all over my guitar strings

  • Getting vibes from all the greatest composers here, amazing to be able to fuse Bach, Mozart, Paganini, Grieg and so many others in one song.

  • 3:40 onwards makes my brain feel good.

  • This one is breathtaking.

  • i love this song!! but i love more "the end of the beginning" 11 minutes of pure music & virtuossim from him to us

  • he seems so perfect thats why gods make him that way..

  • Comment removed

  • @yamaha6nylon WOW, he did not know this and got a kick out of this! Thanks!

  • Dude, I just discovered this song yesterday and I've had it on repeat since...this song made me shit my pants!

Oh yeah, I also want this shit played at my funeral. Bless your soul, Jason...you'll get retribution in the next life, my friend...Shoulda never happened.

  • Jason Becker: Ruining every rookie and intermediate guitarists self esteem and hopes and dreams.

  • @cinnawaffls .........Or, you could take inspiration from him and try to be the best you can ?

  • @cinnawaffls Jason inspired me, really. He's the reason I'll play when I feel like I'm not making any progress whatsoever.

  • jasons music gives me an emotional boner ;p

  • jason becker is a really good musician in my opinion 1 jason becker 2 paul gilbert 3 steve vai 4 joe satraini 5 john petrucci

  • @llopezfamily fucking pissing contests there all great in there own way

  • @jackgunt lol ok you need to chill i was just saying my opinion i know there great in their own way stop acting mature and dont bother replying back im not going to waist my time talking with you

  • @jackgunt lol ok you need to chill i was just saying my opinion i know there great in their own way stop acting unmature and dont bother replying back im not going to waist my time talking with you

  • @llopezfamily

    If you like these guitarists

You should check these Andy Timmons, ( sounds like Satriani )

Kiko Loureiro ( sounds like a mix of Joe Satriani and John Petrucci )

  • There is no doubt that Jason would have been the Greatest muscian in the last 100yrs(1900-2000) and the next 100yrs (2000-2100) if this had not happened... He wrote this piece when he was 18....Now in his 40s, I am positive he would of written pieces that would easily beat the likes of Malmsteen, Batio, Gilbert, Satch,Vai,Petrucci, Cooley or any other shredder

  • @Alejandro1313sixx with his one solo album and 2 with marty in cacophony i honestly beleive he is lol

  • @Alejandro1313sixx sorry all respect to jason and his work but i dont think there will ever be another guitarist as good as buckethead

  • @zeppelin25101980 I like buckethead... I like songs like Padmasana and soothsayer... im a quite a fan but jason is and will beahead of him... besides Paul gilbert taught buckethead alot and sort of helped him with his sound

  • @Alejandro1313sixx try welcome to bucketheadland, frozen brains tell no tails, droids assembly, squid ink, aunt suzie, a real diamond in the rough, peppers ghost, dawn appears, all in the waiting, and electric tears. I think you'll change your mind

  • @zeppelin25101980 Electric tears is pretty cool... Ive also heard "too many humans" Which is awesome! I also love marty Friedmans work... Have you heard "valley of Eternity" , "farewell" or "the yearning"???

  • @Alejandro1313sixx i didn't really like them. i'm more into Steve vai like "Building The Church" Joe satriani "revelation" and john petrucci "damage control" "curve" and dream theaters newist album is one of my favorits

  • @zeppelin25101980 then go watch there shit insted

  • Wow , it's so beautiful , it gives me chills.

  • @theGhostieechan i know its almost scarry....hahaha...

  • most beautiful outro ever heard in my life

  • Jason was a great guitarrist. Thanks for all what you do for us.

  • becker you are my inspiration!

  • I don't understand why the BEST people get taken away so quickly, Jason Becker, who is undoubtedly the best guitarist to ever walk on this planet, got ALS when he was 20 friggin' years old. Bruce Lee, undoubtedly the best martial artist of all time died when he was 32. Jimi Hendrix died when he was 27, and so did many, many more... it's just not fair. In the words of Robert De Niro: "If there is a god, he has a lot to answer for"

  • @Pulsuhundur you're absolutely right . and this fact pisses me off so damn bad . cause we have people that should'nt even be alive .

  • @Pulsuhundur

I agree it's sad, but to "undoubtedly" know things is silly. Becker is by far my favorite neo-classical shredder, but to know for a fact he is the best to ever live is silly. I can name tons of guitarists that are equally good virtuosos in their own rights. For instance, Becker can't touch Govan's blues/rock, Howe's fusion, or Romero's flamenco, but it doesnt mean he isn't a fantastic guitarist.

  • @SirDa5id You seem to misunderstand the definition of 'Neoclassical guitar'

  • @RCCola339 I'm not even sure what you're trying to say, but cool story bro.

  • @SirDa5id I meant flamenco isn't Neoclassical. Also, old joke is old.
