Keep in mind that the coal power plants (who still have a rather large part in electricity production atleast in Europe) also have Hg in their emission. In the end one old school lightbulb gives more Hg to the environment that way than a CFL could.
If people would stop being lazy and recycle their CFL's, then it is no problem how much Hg is in one. As for dangerous to humans, check how much Hg can be in fish. See what I did there? As for LED's, aren't they like, quite expensive?
CFLs might use less power but if the power is made from alternative sources i see no reason to stop using reguler bulbs, and the fact that normal light bulbs non't have no dangerous mercury make them even better in my opinion.
please government explain how is this light bulb safe when it isnt if you really want to make a real impact to the earth use L.E.Ds they have no content of mercury and its 100% recyclable
More propaganda about "saving greenhouse emission gasses" yet fails to explain how.
CFLs contain dangerous mercury....there are complicated guidelines to follow if you want to clean up a broken bulb.
All CFLs are made in China, I dare anyone to find only ONE made in America....and our government will BAN them? No way Jose, I will stockpile American-made incandescent bulbs to enjoy the warm light for many years to come.
i learned nothing!!!

Why are the environmental wackos pushing mercury bulbs in the first place!?
I am only a common working stiff with a bachelors degree in Chemistry, so pardon my ignorance, but this just seems like a very stupid idea.
What's wrong with the incandescent light bulbs again?
