This is the absolute worst film in the entire Exorcist series. I even found The Heretic to be a decent sequel, although the only movies that were supposed to be created were Exorcist and Legion.

I don't understand how two books can spawn five movies. No one knows how to make a movie nowadays. Make something scary. This is not scary. This is just boring and - at some points - hilarious. This is STUPID.

Just watch Dominion. Even that is a DECENT prequel.

Personally, I think "Exorcist: The Begining" is under appreciated. People say is sucks, but personally, I liked it. 1 problem was that people kept trying to compare it to the original. Nothing beats the originals, but that isn't what this film was trying to do. It was trying to tell the story of Father Merrin. It wasn't a classic, but it had it's moments.

this is one of the dumbest movies I have ever seen and this part was just embarrassing. I felt sorry for everyone involved but particularly for the writer and director who actually thought some super Godly force field actually belongs in an Exorcist film. Bunch of tossers!! Paul Schrader's Dominion was so much better even if it obviously unfinished and all the final effects are very low budget... the story and acting is great and the studio should have let him complete the film!!!!!

The Exorcist series is not supposed to be about scares, it's about the characters and the story. Audiences are so fucking stupid nowadays they only want to see cheap jump scares and gore, so studios (poorly) try and copy the original film and make it scary. They all fail.
