...I'm kind of confused....how is she an advanced dancer if her turnout sucks so much? Her tendu (for prep) wasn't to the side if that's what she was trying and you should either land in fifth or like a lunge or something, not whatever she did.

Um good for all of you people that can do triples and stuff but this video was designed to teach people who are trying to each themselves the basics of ballet, so good for you but do you really need to insult and make her feel bad. She can probably do triples too!

I have the most horrible time doing right pirouettes- i can do triple turns pretty easily on the left but even my doubles on right are incredibly messy- what do you guys think i should do to improve?

I am 11 and I can do a tripple pirouette! Yey 4 me! I just learned it about 5 days ago!

your arms should be held by your belly button, not chest level.

no its ment to be near your chest. if u had it near your belly button, it would not make you spin fast and it wouldn't look very good

I honestly don't think that this is advance ballet. and your spot makes you turrn in a single pirouette not your arms.

I agree, this is not advanced. you learn how to do a pirouette when your a beginner or at least the basics of pirouettes, but im intermediate ballet, 13 years old, and i can do 4 pirouettes. If you started off learning pirouettes when your advanced then the chances are you wouldnt be a prima ballerina when your older, girls at my ballet school can do 8 pirouettes, you have to start learning when your a beginner or at LEAST advanced.

i completely agree and like i said many people cant do pirouettes well so most of these people shouldnt even be talking about what's advanced or not advanced because most people cannot perform an acceptable pirouette turn anyways! HAH!

She needs to work on her turnout. Since the floor is wooden it must be very difficult to turn on it since it is slippery.

her rond de jambe sucks and her arms are ugly. and when your in releve your arms should be first position. you land in fourth not fifth.

@dancer4660 Then she should re-record the video. Everyone does make mistakes, even teachers. But, if she intends to teach through video, she should make sure the video is correct because once it is viewed by students, she can't change what they see, and that is what they will learn.

I'm 14, on my 12 year of ballet, 2 en pointe and can double en pointe. Plus, retiré for pirouettes is devant (to the front). and you don't soutenu after you turn, beginners should learn to land in fourth, it helps develop turnout and discourages sickling. Plus when you tendu side for prep it should be side, not cornered. and her fourth was not lined up. In her defense though, if i was told to do a single flat, mine probably would look the same, once you get 4, its hard to single again.

bleh. She doesn't know what a pirouette is. You do not use your arms te get yourself around, most of your spinning comes from the turnout in your legs... if you tell people to use their arms, they will wind up and go crazy.
