  • finally a youtube les paul player that doesn't suck

  • @MwPrice102 There are lots and lots of Les Paul players on youtube that don't suck. I get so tired of seeing bullshit shredders on youtube, it's refreshing to someone play with some feeling.

  • pretty tone :P but if you'll can play less fast nexxt it will be a million time better :P the secret of the blues is the control of yourself :P little trick body

  • Sweet tone....

  • jesus christ it is blues, who cares if he has shoes or not.blues is the real punk!

  • Man I don't care how good the demo is the least you could do for us is put on some shoes.

  • oh my GOD this is the sound which i search OMG grat playing man

  • такое ощущение что парня в коридор выселили к входной двери))) да звук классный лес пол весчь!

  • very niceeeeee feet!

  • I've got the no shoes blues...

  • It almost sounds like the pickups are out of phase, correct?

  • changing the speaker solves "the honky sound" and impression of hard attack. i used to have this problem too then changed to celestion vintage 30 - overdrive channel is now more powerful and solos are sweetier, and attack is softer, but still tight. Of course some people like it stock.

  • your tone is nice.not to dirty.you use your hands and play like your a hell of a lot older than you are. nicely done.

  • cool man .

  • I had one of those Classic 30 amps long ago,and I sold it.I regret having done so,but I did upgrade to a Fender Tweed Blues Jr.,and a Fender Bassman Ltd.They both suit my blues needs quite well.No pedals, just pure amp only overdrive. Can't beat it!

  • wondefull, i like you changed you pick ups for the break out licks/solos. also you can notice how rock easily came from this

  • Extrem cool. (:

  • Nice demo--I just put a classic 30 on lay-away at a local pawn shop.Could'nt pass it up at $250.

  • @highschoolmusical841

why should he have to wear socks when your name is highshoolmusical...

  • very nice even with out a backing track ! very nice guitar and amp !

  • That's what I'm talkin bout !

  • That's some tall blues playen' dude, nice,..........

  • nice!

  • Nice Playing

    And great tone, man!

  • Nice Demo, Marty!!

I may end up finding one of those Peavey Classics.

  • Don't listen to these haters in here. Very enjoyable.

  • Like it,...but the only thing that's getting dirty in these Blues is his feet!!

  • very nice i have the same amp and put a celestion vintage 30 in it , it went from great to greater if thats a word, anyway great tone and great playing david

  • I have that same amp. It's got some monster volume on it. Very nice tone.

  • i want that F guitar !! Love that color

  • Love the amp dude.

it's sweet! such a nice tone

  • @Kinghammy76 sounds god,but no,i dont believe as good as a jtm45, but close,i fully understand about backin tracks bein in yo head, makes for boring playin,i know real well,,,

  • You wouldn't happen to lurk MLP, would you?

  • Hi Marty, Can you tell me if your Classic 30 is stock,or does it have any modifications? Great Playing/Great tone!!! Thank you.Al p.s. I apologize if you have already answered this question.

  • 1:21 to 1:27 is delicious. just sayin.

  • Man, I feel like 99% of the "blues" on youtube is garbage. This is the top 1%.

  • gotta love the blues jr.

  • What a nice warm tone out of that amp! Real nice playing.

  • does the 30 watt version have enough headroom to sound clean in a band setting without distorting because of the volume?

  • love classic 30's, sounds better then 95% of the amps out there. I've had bad GAS but i always come back to the C30 real pure tube tone baby, add 1-12 extension cab and sit inbetween them. actually better in a band situation with a drummer. gets better when cranked.Keep posting mate. great job

  • Could you put up a lesson on playing some of those licks?

  • just start listening to blues

  • @matcas706 I already do, But just happen to like this video especially.

  • @sebastiansfp94 dont hold your breath for a reply..

  • @sebastiansfp94 i second that. I can make out some of what you play just by lisyening but tabs or a lesson would be awesome!

  • Awesome! I really learned a lot watching this! Thanks!

  • soooooooooo dirrrtttyyyy!!

  • Great tone.

    Great soul & vibe.

    That was REALLY nice.

  • I can see someone's a Cream fan. Awesome job.

  • Very nice, and cool sound playing, well done.

  • Great job, man, really enjoyed. In the U.K., we call that hairstyle 'curtains' ;P

  • Great Sound, great playing.

Love that clean overdriven sound of the LP and amp. Very Classic.

  • Comment removed

  • it comes with like reverb but not with like echo.

  • What a piece. ;D

  • being so young, you allready have a great blues feel.Just evolve a bit more jazzy(robben ford, carl verheyen) and your gonna be a very sofistic. bluesplayer.

    BTW.,great amp,i have the 2-10.

  • Peavey is good amp , but you are great guitar player ,keep it on!

  • wow when you turned on the screamer it really sounded like a joe bonamassa tone goin on, similar vibrato too, really love those classic 30s, probably gonna get one for myself in a month or two

  • sounds great. I love making stuff up on the guitar. It's what ever your feeling that moment. I think I'll play some right now. Cheers !

  • These peavey classic series tube amps are really good amps. Back in highschool a kid i eventually formed a band with had a peavey classic 20. I was so impressed i bought it for 100 bucks after one jam practice except the bad thing was just by coincidence at that very practice he blew the amp having it at full bore for 2 hours. So i brought it home and it never works and short circuted all the lights in my house...shame

  • Would this amp be loud enough to compete with a drummer in a band situation???

  • 30 tube watts is loud enough..!

  • /signed

  • he's pretty good, but does he not realise that it's illegal to play the blues with no shoes and a curtain haircut

  • Lol... i got the haircut part but why no shoes?

  • @mattman3ts Come on man. The great thing about the blues is it's not illegal for anyone to play it.

  • @mattman3ts maybe he has the "no shoes / curtain haircut blues"?

  • @mattman3ts dude the blues are fashionless, its the least of the blues problems

  • tight dude im a 12 year old and im trying to get as good at improvising as that

  • Very nice! Thanks for the demo.

  • Nice wallpaper xD

  • @1952Telecaster

I think the only difference between the Delta Blues and the Classic 30 is the Tremolo effect.

  • I have a Delta Blues Peavey amp in tweed kickin' around. What's the difference between your amp and mine? The tweed covered Delta Blues amp I have is 30 watts with one 15" Blue Marvel

  • I just bought a new classic 30, i was wondering is your classic 30 the same as mine? did u mod yours?

do you get a hum and a tube rattle on high volumes?

  • He's got a tube tamer. Mine has that same rattling problem, but it's not all that loud really. A tube tamer would probably be a good investment for it though.

  • I had the old stock tubes in there for a year or two before I changed them. They rattled and made the overdrive sound like crap. A retube kit from eurotubes did the trick. I forgot it used to rattle... awesome amp, especially if you can get one cheap. I got mine for $450 new a few years ago. Beats a fender HR deluxe IMO

  • Nice playing btw man!

  • this amp has a lot of spank.

i really need to find one around here at a good price.

  • thanks for the videos man, i was lookin into this amp for a long time and i hope i can get as great a tone as you do! awesome stuff btw.

  • great tone, man u sound very good.

  • pre gain is the amount of distortion and post gain is the volume

  • GREAT tone & playing!

  • Do you have your guitar's volume maxed out?

  • Nice job man. I love the sound of a Gibson Les Paul through a Fender Amp (Ok I Know it's a Peavey)similar though?? Most dudes when they play through a Fender do so with a Strat... guess what they all sound the same, IMO, all trying to cop Stevie Ray's Tone.

When the Les Paul came out in 1952 the only amps around were Fenders and a handful of others so they sound awesome together. People forget that.

    Beautiful man.

  • lol while im posting this comment/reply im playing my epi lp 100 through a fender frontman 15 watt :P

  • Holy cats! That tone is perfect!

  • The amp sounds great and your playing is very good. I do have one gripe though...the wallpaper...it's killing me.

    Rock on.

  • Great stuff!!! Going to try those settings on my classic 50 with my tele. If you goto get new tubes get some jj's through euro tubes!!! Keep up the great work!!

  • ur peavey looks like a hot rod or a blues jr.

  • they are deceptive like that. its the same concept as the blues jr...class a, el-84s, small cab, single 12, etc. I think the blues jr is lower wattage tho...

  • Sounds really good.

I have a Delta Blues 210 which is close to the same thing. Same tubes and what controls, but mine has vibrato.

I like the drive channel, but I prefer the sound of the clean channel turned to about 5 for good break up.

  • Wow, excellet tone from that classic 30. I'm hoping to get one soon. Thank you very much for the demo. I wish more people demo'ed amps on youtube, so I can get an idea of what they're like before I try one out. Excellent tone and playing.

  • nice sound! ae you using the drive channel? or it is the pedal efect. anyway i like your tone, and I'd like you to see my video, i'm using the same amp.

    P&L

  • Nice tone. Man, I wish I would have kept my Les Paul. I had trouble with my Classic 30. Kept blowing tubes. Yours sounds great though.

  • Gee, I can't guess what your favourite album is! *cough* beano *cough*.

    :D

  • sounds very goooooooooooood

  • you know what i've found out about my amp is that you can get some way different sounds out of changing the master volume and adjusting the post volume. you can get something really thin with the master at 7, the post at 5. really full sounds come out with the master at 12 and the post at 2 or so. does the classic 30 have a master knob? if not... aw man you're missing out. great playing too man

  • Classic 30 has a normal volume, a pre gain, and a post gain volume.

  • Sweet Les Paul tone! Excellent!!

  • very nice,

  • wow

  • Nice dude. I love my Classic 30. LPs smoke on this baby. Nice looking Lester there too.

  • I haD A CLASSIC 50 AND IT WAS GOOD ... BUT THE VOL POTS ARE POORLY MADE AND THE SHAFTS BREAK AND THE POT ARE MOUNTED DIRECTLY ON PC BOARD AND ARE A PAIN TO ACCESSS

  • Do you think there are any other better tube amps around for this price range (well I'm getting a used one, which means a new $800 amp is really a used $400 one)? Because I can get a Peavey Classic 50 for like $400 I think it is- and that's the 2x12 version. I'm just asking around to see how good of a deal that is or if I can do better with another tube amp. thanks man

  • you're good, good taste in geetars too :)

  • what does the "post" setting do really?

  • post setting basically is the mater volume for the dirty channel.

  • Outstanding tone! The intense playing doesn't hurt, either. You have some amazing skills. I like that it's not being buried by a backing track.

  • dude! You are incredible. Amazing feel and tone you got!!

  • I didn't think it was boring at all. I liked it quite a bit. Good playing, good tone.

  • you play ok but its boring if you should put a backing track it will better(=

  • I can understand how it would be boring, the "backing track" is in my head. This was mainly a demo to show off the amp etc not my playing. I also don't have any backing tracks as I don't use them.

  • @martys13 Hey, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Its not boring to me. Good demonstration for people who are intrested in buying this amp which by the way is currently me, even more so after hearing you play now. Nice playing. I wanted a Tx. red with the celestrian 30s but these jensens sound great as well. Next time, hope you dont put a backing track in.

  • This is the Blues, crying on the guitar alone!

  • Is this amp loud?

  • Yes, very loud however being only a single speaker it sometimes gets lost in a band without a PA kind of setup. This is where the external speaker jack is very useful, you can hook up a 4x12 cab or whatever you choose. Personally I think its "louder" than a JTM45 and has more clean headroom.

  • you prefer the peavey, but it seems to be louder because he dont give the bottom of the jtm45, more bottom reduce the current available for high sounds.

its real that the peavey sound more clean in that way.

get a fender bassman59 and it will sound like the marshall. ill build a jtm45/100 with dual rectifier option. with some metro amp too.

  • i think i might get me some BB pros. ive been thinking of changing the pickups but never knew what to change them to. getting to hear those in a les paul through the same amp i use is really cool haha. i have considered those pickups and i will probably get them

  • what kind of lp is that? and what pickups are in it. i have a classic 30 and an epiphone les paul. it just seems like you are getting a little more....something....out of it. i know you have a gibson, so thats a big difference, but im just wonderin what model and pickups you are usin. btw nice playing

  • Cheers,

Its a 2005 LP standard with stock pickups which are the BurstBucker Pro's. It has an RS premium wiring upgrade, lightweight tailpiece and bone nut which may contribute to the tone. In the future I will change out the pickups for a more vintage feel I think.

  • Nice to see use of volume/tone controls to get different tones. Sounds good!

  • Good boy...some nice playing and tone! I dig it. Go Peavey.

  • How's the built in boostmode? Any good?

  • Inbuilt boost is pretty terrible and it doesn't have a foot switch for it so its pretty useless. I have never used it, it doesn't need it though, thats what the screamer is for or just get a better boost if you want clean.

  • What about the lead channel? its pretty good though, right?

  • Lead channel is fantastic, its what I am using during this clip. Very nice indeed.

  • this combo haven't enought bass imho

  • The actual feeling of bass is a little hard judge on a video. IMO it has plenty, its enough to give good vibrations. It might not has as much as some marshall combos but I think it makes up for it ten fold in other areas. Hooking up a 4x12 cab fixes the issue.

  • can PLEASE tell me those amp settings(tones)?

  • If you click more on the description its there ;)
