@MwPrice102 There are lots and lots of Les Paul players on youtube that don't suck. I get so tired of seeing bullshit shredders on youtube, it's refreshing to someone play with some feeling.
pretty tone :P but if you'll can play less fast nexxt it will be a million time better :P the secret of the blues is the control of yourself :P little trick body
great man ... now add some g maj and C maj and D maj petatonics over those same said chords and you will have a WIDE range of color.Maybe add a half whole dim scale when you are playing from a one to the four Right now it's sounding very good but very G minor Peta.:)
changing the speaker solves "the honky sound" and impression of hard attack. i used to have this problem too then changed to celestion vintage 30 - overdrive channel is now more powerful and solos are sweetier, and attack is softer, but still tight. Of course some people like it stock.
I had one of those Classic 30 amps long ago,and I sold it.I regret having done so,but I did upgrade to a Fender Tweed Blues Jr.,and a Fender Bassman Ltd.They both suit my blues needs quite well.No pedals, just pure amp only overdrive. Can't beat it!
very nice i have the same amp and put a celestion vintage 30 in it , it went from great to greater if thats a word, anyway great tone and great playing david
@Kinghammy76 sounds god,but no,i dont believe as good as a jtm45, but close,i fully understand about backin tracks bein in yo head, makes for boring playin,i know real well,,,
Hi Marty, Can you tell me if your Classic 30 is stock,or does it have any modifications? Great Playing/Great tone!!! Thank you.Al p.s. I apologize if you have already answered this question.
love classic 30's, sounds better then 95% of the amps out there. I've had bad GAS but i always come back to the C30 real pure tube tone baby, add 1-12 extension cab and sit inbetween them. actually better in a band situation with a drummer. gets better when cranked.Keep posting mate. great job
being so young, you allready have a great blues feel.Just evolve a bit more jazzy(robben ford, carl verheyen) and your gonna be a very sofistic. bluesplayer.
wow when you turned on the screamer it really sounded like a joe bonamassa tone goin on, similar vibrato too, really love those classic 30s, probably gonna get one for myself in a month or two
These peavey classic series tube amps are really good amps. Back in highschool a kid i eventually formed a band with had a peavey classic 20. I was so impressed i bought it for 100 bucks after one jam practice except the bad thing was just by coincidence at that very practice he blew the amp having it at full bore for 2 hours. So i brought it home and it never works and short circuted all the lights in my house...shame
I have a Delta Blues Peavey amp in tweed kickin' around. What's the difference between your amp and mine? The tweed covered Delta Blues amp I have is 30 watts with one 15" Blue Marvel
He's got a tube tamer. Mine has that same rattling problem, but it's not all that loud really. A tube tamer would probably be a good investment for it though.
I had the old stock tubes in there for a year or two before I changed them. They rattled and made the overdrive sound like crap. A retube kit from eurotubes did the trick. I forgot it used to rattle... awesome amp, especially if you can get one cheap. I got mine for $450 new a few years ago. Beats a fender HR deluxe IMO
Nice job man. I love the sound of a Gibson Les Paul through a Fender Amp (Ok I Know it's a Peavey)similar though?? Most dudes when they play through a Fender do so with a Strat... guess what they all sound the same, IMO, all trying to cop Stevie Ray's Tone.
When the Les Paul came out in 1952 the only amps around were Fenders and a handful of others so they sound awesome together. People forget that.
Great stuff!!! Going to try those settings on my classic 50 with my tele. If you goto get new tubes get some jj's through euro tubes!!! Keep up the great work!!
they are deceptive like that. its the same concept as the blues jr...class a, el-84s, small cab, single 12, etc. I think the blues jr is lower wattage tho...
Wow, excellet tone from that classic 30. I'm hoping to get one soon. Thank you very much for the demo. I wish more people demo'ed amps on youtube, so I can get an idea of what they're like before I try one out. Excellent tone and playing.
nice sound! ae you using the drive channel? or it is the pedal efect. anyway i like your tone, and I'd like you to see my video, i'm using the same amp.
you know what i've found out about my amp is that you can get some way different sounds out of changing the master volume and adjusting the post volume. you can get something really thin with the master at 7, the post at 5. really full sounds come out with the master at 12 and the post at 2 or so. does the classic 30 have a master knob? if not... aw man you're missing out. great playing too man
I haD A CLASSIC 50 AND IT WAS GOOD ... BUT THE VOL POTS ARE POORLY MADE AND THE SHAFTS BREAK AND THE POT ARE MOUNTED DIRECTLY ON PC BOARD AND ARE A PAIN TO ACCESSS
Do you think there are any other better tube amps around for this price range (well I'm getting a used one, which means a new $800 amp is really a used $400 one)? Because I can get a Peavey Classic 50 for like $400 I think it is- and that's the 2x12 version. I'm just asking around to see how good of a deal that is or if I can do better with another tube amp. thanks man
I can understand how it would be boring, the "backing track" is in my head. This was mainly a demo to show off the amp etc not my playing. I also don't have any backing tracks as I don't use them.
@martys13 Hey, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Its not boring to me. Good demonstration for people who are intrested in buying this amp which by the way is currently me, even more so after hearing you play now. Nice playing. I wanted a Tx. red with the celestrian 30s but these jensens sound great as well. Next time, hope you dont put a backing track in.
Yes, very loud however being only a single speaker it sometimes gets lost in a band without a PA kind of setup. This is where the external speaker jack is very useful, you can hook up a 4x12 cab or whatever you choose. Personally I think its "louder" than a JTM45 and has more clean headroom.
you prefer the peavey, but it seems to be louder because he dont give the bottom of the jtm45, more bottom reduce the current available for high sounds.
its real that the peavey sound more clean in that way.
get a fender bassman59 and it will sound like the marshall. ill build a jtm45/100 with dual rectifier option. with some metro amp too.
i think i might get me some BB pros. ive been thinking of changing the pickups but never knew what to change them to. getting to hear those in a les paul through the same amp i use is really cool haha. i have considered those pickups and i will probably get them
what kind of lp is that? and what pickups are in it. i have a classic 30 and an epiphone les paul. it just seems like you are getting a little more....something....out of it. i know you have a gibson, so thats a big difference, but im just wonderin what model and pickups you are usin. btw nice playing
Its a 2005 LP standard with stock pickups which are the BurstBucker Pro's. It has an RS premium wiring upgrade, lightweight tailpiece and bone nut which may contribute to the tone. In the future I will change out the pickups for a more vintage feel I think.
Inbuilt boost is pretty terrible and it doesn't have a foot switch for it so its pretty useless. I have never used it, it doesn't need it though, thats what the screamer is for or just get a better boost if you want clean.
The actual feeling of bass is a little hard judge on a video. IMO it has plenty, its enough to give good vibrations. It might not has as much as some marshall combos but I think it makes up for it ten fold in other areas. Hooking up a 4x12 cab fixes the issue.
