It was via this very upload that I discovered this amazing song in the first place but I have now uploaded the full 12 minute version for all to see :) Thanks
@bentpolski I believe it is a Warwick bass,i know he has been playing them for awhile now, that along with the Gibson SG bass..Warwick and Spector have similiar brand logos on the neck
I was trying to figure out the time signature..and just realized that its all in 4/4 the whole time...but Billy divides the 16 beats into 9, 7, 9, 7...eureka!
Was 17 when saw this last time live in Autrian TV. No video recorder that time. Wonderful musicans and music. Thanks you for posting such rare things! Love it!
I remember seeing this concert on Rockpalast - who'd forget the shirt Jack was wearing lol. I video'd on one of the original brick like vhs machines and watched it so many times it chewed up the tape. Glad I've found it again, brilliant.
he is a man like you and me,but a genias artist,I dont like personal cult,Ive be born and grown up in a communist country, and they celebrated honecker like a god,I hadet him from the bottom of my heard. When I see jacks face,he looks like very handsame peaseful man.Pease
I like what he was trying to do but don't feel he hit the mark with his jazz music - or non-rock stuff. Interesting but too indulgent. I prefer the simplicity of his Cream songs, especially "we're going wrong".
I love this dude. The voice, the songs, the attiude. He can say whatever he pleases about Zep, so what? It's all good. AC/DC said about Plant & co: "a nice rocknroll band, but the singer's a bit of a bullshit artist"
Erstaunlich, daß Jack (selber nicht der "technichste Bassist) es mit seiner Musikalität immer wieder schaffte mit Superleuten wie Mc Laughlin, Cobham etc. super zu spielen.
You would be referring to Bruce's recent comments towards Led Zeppeiln? Yes, that smacks of bitterness to me as well, which I really don't understand coming from an artist as accomplished as JB is. Bruce with Page could have been some really interesting music. What a shame it never happened.
A big thanks to chrismans once again for great Bruce video. The only time I ever got to see the man was with this particular band. What a show it was. In Santa Monica. Jack's mic died on one song, I was halfway back, and I swear you could still hear that powerhouse of a voice above Cobham and crew.
ohhh...Epic!

I bought the DVD from this concert which I saw live back then. Guess what: Bird alone is not featured on the DVD! - Idiots.

Great song, I actually have part of this concert on DVD but this song ain't on it! Jack Bruce's solo work is criminally underrated.

Is Jack playing a Spector Bass here?

@SouthernPride76 That is a Spector Bass. Warwick didn't exist yet in 1980.
Hamerguy68 1 year ago
@bentpolski it's a Warwick "Thumb" bass.

@kidigus warwick was founded in 1982...this concert is from 1980

@bruceisjack You're right; the numbers don't lie. It sure as hell looks like a Warwick.

Fast part has an odd time signature. Jack is one of a kind. Great band. I have their LP with this song on it.

Wieso erstaunlich?

Danke crissy!

This comment has received too many negative votes show
Obviously, the pathetic words of a marginal artist, rendered irrelevant, by Jimmy Page's work many, many, years ago. A sad bitter little man.
