  • I've Rollerskate to this sonq, but for someone who's Frm Detroit You Gotta Know Who "The Spinners Are But It's Sad They Have Been Out For Many Decades & Still Don't Get the Appreciation that they deserve...

  • My girlfriend used to sing this all the time in the summer of 76!

  • Here is my THEME SONG!!!!! Woooooohooooo!!!

  • I wish music was like this nowadays, and this is coming from a person who likes dance music and dubstep!

  • This is mud wrestling music, baby!

  • Thumbs up if you were brought here by the mighty Electric 6

  • I Just want to dance

  • #378

  • great song can't get enough of it

  • What the hell happened there? Thought I was on the basketball channel and going insane for a minute. Susisoscia got us back on track.

  • Only the '70s could have produced such pure genius!

  • Rollerskating

  • sor goat wa 4 ft 4 ooops

  • sounded like you did. when on tour every brother could do a 50 in like it was cake, so look fo you open your yap the goat wa =s 3 ft 3 and could dund dude

  • well dolt. first of all theres about 40 guys with over jordans 44. thats nothing. ever hear of spud webb, clown 50 inchches some kid sent a vid a high scholl junior this is sent a verified vid of 53 to the nba combine, real tall guys cant jump big. david thompson had a 47 at 6ft7. theres tons of parkers in NYC go over 50 in I played with the "goat" in the rucker league and at the 96th street east side drive drugs and nam took most guys , so shut your fucking hole and go back to sucking cock

  • My dad had this track on vinyl when I was a kid in the early 80s. I used to listen to it all the time, with my head against the hi-fi speakers. "Hey y'all prepare yourself ... " So funky and groovy - this is still one of my favorite songs ever!

  • Wow!, the whites sat with the whites and the blacks sat with the blacks..........just like school

  • @rwk1983 Hi there! You would know more about that than me (I'm on the other side of the world in New Zealand). Bet they all enjoyed it though!

  • Loved this song from the moment it was first released. Must have been sheer torture for some of the audience to stay in their seats. ("How much of this stuff do you think we can stand?!") What a class act!

  • I approve of this song.

  • OLDIIES

  • This song is a party all by itself!

  • YEA OBAMA.....THIS DUDE IS OUT OF SIGHT.....EVERYTHING HE DOES .......SEEMED TO COME OUT RIGHT!!! {where in the world did he learn that? so much rhythm grace and debonaire for one man?.....lord lemme git away!}

  • Bring back a lot ofold memories

  • This is enjoyable. Oh, I love this song.

  • This the REAL Rubberband Man, fuck that T.I. shit...

  • These guys were a blast!

  • This was the first song I heard out my dads 45 collection. This is the song that ignited my love for music...

  • @TriphopJunkie nice draw!

  • Saw them last night at the Ga national Fair AWESOME

  • Good old fashioned soul music! Love it!

  • i got my rubberband i'm jamming with you

  • This song never fails to get me in a good mood. <3

  • @Maninshades13 Me too--in fact it was playing in the grocery store I work at and I felt like dancing in my check stand. So I did, and my customer laughed and my courtesy clerk did a little dance too. This song just has the ability to bring about a feeling of pure, honest joy! The world needs a good, healthy dose of this stuff again.

  • @rickrode9 Hear, hear, more sheer joy to the world any time you can, anywhere you can! This song played in a local grocery store not too long ago and I just had to whip out the vocal harmony chops right then & there while grabbing a loaf of Ezekiel bread! When I read your comment here, I laughed as I pictured in my mind the sight of you getting day-owwwn behind that cash register, and if I'd been the customer, I'd not only laugh, I'd jump right in and do a couple spins in the aisle! Watch out!

  • WOW!

  • The Hall of Fame awaits gentleman -- Class of 2011!

  • @bhm1304 I aggre with you. Check out my playlist on UnderatedArtest

  • Philippe Wynne should have never went solo.

  • The spinners win the award for the best dressed...class

  • First time I heard this was Bill Murrays Stripes. That makes me feel young.

Saw Stripes when it was brand new on HBO.

    That makes me feel old.

  • Wow! The female singers look like eurythmy dancers, lol!

  • choreography is so cool!

  • These Guy's Had It All. Kid's today will never witness a male group like this unless it's on youtube or others like it. btw, I think you can add The Four Tops & Tavares.

  • @TheMrtimmy28 Even this white girl got her funk from bands like this. Too bad for today's kids indeed. 61 yr old granny still boogies to philly, when knees and legs permit.

  • That whole group was underrated!! Nobody makes music like they used to. Back in those days, music was worth paying for...

  • Philippe Soul Wynne. . .so underrated, an amazing vocalist. RIP

  • cool. But will always remind me of the mud wrestling scene in the movie Stripes!

  • I never saw the spinners live. But I have seem them thousands of times on youtube. Sometimes I feel like I'm the only sane kid out of all the people perusing youtube. I play alot of fps I just currently finished a game going 20 and 2. My friends call me SacTap cause I go for the nuts. To bad for old people these days...they just wont open their minds and call all us young people stupid when none of the shit matters just like none of the shit I just listed matters.

  • The guys and gals were always dressed sharply..

  • No lip-syncing. These guys are singing, and they could flat-out sing. I was a hard rock fan, but have to admit that when I was alone in my '76 Cutlass and this song came on the radio I was cranking it up.

  • boss.

  • i hear you, another white guy who grew up loving the Spinners. Although they didnt call me Windex. But you are right, they will never know...

  • i was born the year this came out and i still love it

  • to all, sorry if i offend but this is an awsome song

  • this is to mrtimmy,i was born in 76 so i dont have the up front but i will say from the vids and words of my folks,i wish i could have ben there

  • Disgusted at the muted audience reaction. Staying in their seats that like politely applauding when a full-on stage invasion was clearly the only appropriate response. Obscene.

  • This song makes you just feel good

  • The absolutely most underrated group ever!!!! And Philippé Wynne with his distinctive soulful voice is up there with Sam Cooke, Al Green, Otis Redding and David Ruffin. Backed by the incomparable Thom Bell, there is simply too many songs that are too good to forget.

  • I was born in '71, and my Mom was in her early 20s at the time. As a result, she introduced me to all of the GOOD music of the day. Her record collection was huge. To this day, this is my favorite kind of music. Nothing beats SOUL! :)

  • @snoops71 you are soooo right!! and nothing beats real music made with instruments and singers with REAL talent!! What happened???

  • I love the routines and the outfits and of course the song. I miss is era of music.

  • Phillippe takes every performance to chuuurrrchh!

  • check out those moves!

  • The band was killing it.

  • GET IT SPINNERS!!!!!! LOL That part at the end was off tha hook with the rubber bands. I have to agree with the people-old school is the best. I was born in '75. I think people in their 30s and 40s got the best b/c we got to appreciate old school, but be kids in the midst of rap at its most creative, so we're well rounded musically b/c we heard a lot. Not to say younger ppl don't appreciate, but it's not the same...b/c the exposure isn't quite the same.

  • i was born in the 90s and i take my time to fine the good stuff like this

  • i was born n 71, thnk you jesus, i got to hear all the great music, feel really sorry anybody born after 1990, the soul was gone by then

  • Good to have been a child in the 70s and 80s! Cats were rockin during that era!

  • was born in 1995 and unfortunately i dont have have the pleasure of listening to great music on my local radio

  • COLD!

  • I was born in the wrong era...

I wish my mother wouldve had me when she was 4....

  • @maniilovex3 Me 2 man me 2...

  • i will ALWAYS love this song

  • Good shots of the audience at the end.

  • Dig Pops in the burgundy tux

  • Comment removed

  • cheer for the young ladies you sick pieces of hshit

  • i saw the spinners 34 times live at the apollo theater in NYC along with dozens of other groups i was sometimes the only white kid in an 1800 seat theater cause i had hoop skillz and played in the rucker league and i was 6 ft2 and had a vertical of 51 inches. the brothers called me WINDEX cause i cleaned the glass-- and from that i got my funk --- too bad for todays kids---- they will never know

  • @TheMrtimmy28 good for you

  • @paintedwerewolf i don't know if you're being facetious or not but back in the day the apollo was the place to be arethra, harold melvin, the temptatations, lakeside every saturday night 3 bucks and bands who later became famous would play for free and have to clean up afterwards i played ball with herman "the goat" manginault" and dante stallworth whos brother dave played for the knicks. my main game was defense and rebounding but i could put up 50 anytime i did annapolis 35 yr marine

  • @TheMrtimmy28 Hahahahaha 51 inch vertical my ass, not even LeBron James has a vertical that high.

  • @KestinoMan lebron has about a 45 thats nothing. theres guys alll over the parks in NYC got 0ver fo in vert. a junior from a kansas just sent in a vid witnessesed by 40 scouts of him doing a 54. big guys cant fly. other wise shaq woulld have a 60 right dummy?? spdd webb??? look him up. 5 ft 4 won the dunk contest 53 inch lebrons s got brickss in his boats lol . when i played in the league guys shorter the labron(girls name) would eat him) rudy larusso no one can shoot. just dunk

  • @KestinoMan i'm surprised someone as stupid as you can use a computer. dave debushurre would just kill la-bron so would rick barry, havilicek gervin, dr j all these walkers and dunkers would be eaten alive with this trash talk they make a big deal about trip doubles, hell i had 41 in a season and O had everygame so pissoff

  • @TheMrtimmy28

51" vertical !!! Shiiiit! Your no Earl Manigault ! Where did you play ball dude?

  • @TheMrtimmy28 woah there Mrtimmy. I really meant no offense. Clearly I didnt take heights into account - I really don't know much about vertical leaping ability clearly. I believe in your abilities now. No disrespect. I just thought anything above 40 was pretty rare - I hadnt heard of anything 50+, and yeah I've heard of Spudd Webb.

  • @TheMrtimmy28 Come to think of it you're right, he would have to have well over a 50+ to touch the rim. Ease up next time cause I guess someone as stupid as me can use a computer after all.

  • @TheMrtimmy28 Awesome memory, thanks for sharing it.

  • And now we know what the real deal is...wow.

    Tom Loughlin Jr, Utica NY

  • there is no lip sing it there voice great music and so real

  • get it! haha
