  • After watching more than 20 of these videos, I still wonder what the groundbreaking vocal tip that can't be found on youtube is

  • Anyone know what the audio track is?

  • Hot

  • Thanks for the singing lesson Jack Nicholson!

  • "There's evidence of head..." Teeheehee XD

  • @DorisErikssonisCRAZY Shut up Doris.

  • Check out my vids, I sing in head voice alot!

  • is there a butt voice

  • @Defender78 Your comment shows that you have a butt voice.

  • im confused. Which one is when i can sing like robert plant at a low volume?

  • Sorry but you are showing a falsetto voice when explaining head voice. A head voice is modular and has volume. The blend was correct, however.

  • @yopoke190 I agree. A head voice, at least the operatic one, sounds just as strong as the so-called chest voice. This guy is singing in reinforced falsetto, I believe. Have you used this program? It seems like a scam to me, honestly.

  • Anyone else think he kinda looks like a young Jack Nicholson?

  • @smellytoaster yeah but do you actually think that he also sounds a bit like(the young) him? I think so.

  • Ok... im immature 1:28 lol

  • Excellent description!

  • i never knew that there is a head voice, chest voice, falsetto... i thought it was all about opening the mouth and soulfully trying to make different noises until it sound good. now it seems so complicated...

  • @octopusxoctopus What you described sounds way more complicated.

  • why does my head voice sound so nasely? Also how long would it take to

    develop a strong mixed voice?

  • woww..cool :)

  • I started picking my nose when I started watching this:)

  • Show 1:13 to your dog.

  • Why are there these really weird "Bunny" videos in the side with this pseudo fat people porn?

  • @Vintexen where are the bunny videos i wanna see them

  • @ponieeee They're gone now but I can't imagine why you would want to see them

  • @Vintexen i do bcuz i like that kind of thing

  • @ponieeee You're a troll

  • @Vintexen no i am a human bieing y do U call me that, it is kind of mean and hurts my feelings.

  • Jack Nicholson teaching me to sing! Ni-ice!

  • wow amazing!

  • hahahah spam 4 :PPP

  • lol press 5 over and over again.

  • press 4: "guess what i did last night"?

  • can you teach how to use head voice? i know how to do falsetto and chest etc. but i've never understood how to use head voice, and that's the voice i really wanna learn to use. it sounds great and i think would be perfect for a lot of the music i write. unfortunately i don't have the money for vocal lessons; therefore, i come online to try and find the answer. i have been unsuccessful so for. i hope you or someone can help me soon. thanks

  • Look I'm really sorry, but did any of what he said remind anyone else of porn?

  • press 2 reapetedly xD

  • try pressing 1 2 5 and 9 reapeatedly :D

  • @Shyturhellout ahahahah

  • nice.hha but everytime he said "in head" i start laughing((:

  • So is there a video for me to learn how to sing in the mix like Kellin Quinn?

  • Rad hat

  • Amazing singer. Not sure about the hat

  • "Here's Johnny!"

  • How do you get your head voice to sound so much like your chest? I've been trying to get my voice to sound like this for a long time, and you seem to do so very well at 0:48. Unless that's something else. Regardless, I want to make my voice do that at that note, any tips?

  • lol! 1:33

  • it's jack nicholson

  • What the monkey?

  • it's too confuse

  • can anyone give my tips? i am a 13 year old male and can go from the 2nd D from the left to the 4th C from left.

  • lol he sounds like a female at 45

  • oh god

singing tip videos r hilarious yet i feel so educated

  • Good Tips, Thanx.

BTW You Look like Jack Nicholson!

  • Mixed voice is one of the greatest feelings in the world! And thanks for explaining head voice vs. Falsetto!

  • gangster teacher

  • gangster

  • still havnt a clue!

  • Unfortunately this description of head voice versus falsetto doesn't explain countertenors in opera who are men who sing almost exclusively in their falsetto, but are not breathy by any means.

  • @erin303mezzo

it may be more difficult to tell with counter tenors, but physiologically the difference is the same, the cords come together with head voice, and they don't come together in falsetto. head voice uses less air, falsetto uses more air. Head voice with training can actually go higher than falsetto because of this physiological difference, with head voice, the opening just gets smaller, but with falsetto, it's quite limited with all that air blowing the cords apart.

  • This man is amazing.....

  • why sometimes my head voice breaks (literally) into a ugly distorted VOCAL FRY?

i am worried about that beacuse it took so much time to learn all this!

  • @89gerardo You just possibly need more practice for not the falsetto or head voice to get into an "ugly distorted vocal fry"... It happens to me alot, but when it happens, I just drink some water with room temperature... If it still happens, I usualy drink a bit of lemon juice, not too much, to get the voice "lighter"... Always remember to eat lightly before practicing, and to practice only like 3 hours after your meal!

  • Bass/Bass-baritone here, still trying to figure out how to not go into falsetto when reaching a high G. Though the note is hit so briefly in the song only once, so one falsetto note might not throw the whole thing off.

  • Thanks, man!

  • I get head voice from my girl ALL the time. :P

  • Now I'm even more confused... I thought I understood the difference... Maybe that's why I suck at head voice.

  • i wanna now about the vocal fry scream,

to do it properly, it is made by a vocal fry and then add more air like a "breathy vocal fry"?sometimes i can do it but i am confused, i dont find the logic because i know that for example the head voice is pressure with less air and the falsetto it is with more air and less vocal cord closure and less pressure, but it is possible(to do the vocal fry scream)apply more vocal cord closure and at the same time add MORE air?(2 opposite things)

  • lol at 1:32 he sounds like Garth from waynes world.

  • God that little e in the beginning is so annoying

  • @megatron515 Ironically the e is singing an F#

  • @megatron515 It made me laugh

  • Hummmmmmmmmmmmmm!!!!!

  • i got headache when i try to hit my headvoice (full support)

our trainor always says HIGH NOTES --LOW SUPPORT but i always scream (full support i mean)

i can use my falsetto but it was round..

  • Hi, I'm brett... and I'm fucking you with my eyes. just briefly.

PS someone looks FUCKED, your eyes are barely open

  • Hi, I'm brett... and I'm fucking you with my eyes. just briefly.

  • He smashes the cords together at the beginning of every note. Great way to get nodes.

  • no offence but Brett's head voice sounds a little bad lol. just my opinion.

  • what is the intro song for these videos?

  • truth. love what you said at the end - is it artistically viable? i care about whether or not Im getting the quality of sound i need for the tune.

  • Cuz Im not stuck in my mouth like Oh Oh Oh! Thts my fave bit! ;P x

  • so technically frankie valli was in his head voice not falsetto? cus when i listen to him it sounds too connected to be falsetto

  • What's a ferengal ??

  • @XxSomeonePersonXX its a singing term for a very frontal nasal placement. Its like nasal without sounding like you have a cold

  • @XxSomeonePersonXX It's the sound you make when you say "ng", it takes pressure off the chest voice. See his video "Connecting Chest and Head Voice". He explains a little bit of the "ng" sound. The "ng" sound is pronounced kinda like "ing"

  • @XxSomeonePersonXX i think it's an alien race from star trek

  • @XxSomeonePersonXX Pharyngeal is kinda like the connector in between head and chest voice that nose reasonce thingh you can kinda say your voice is divided into three gears head mix chest , 1,2 and 3 gear, usally most people havn't learned there is a second gear and therefore a break most of the time the phyrangeal has the job of connection gear 1 and 3 so the voice won't break, or if you prefer the cars runs out of gas and stops, hope it helps.

  • what is that song at the end?

  • i'm not stuck in my mouth like oh oh oh lolz

  • @ashlipizza how can you see this videos without paying attention to the tips that they are giving to us? xD you dont wanna sing?

  • @89gerardo lol i sing all the time

  • "There's an evidence of HEAD..."

    "There's a blend of HEAD"

.. okay maybe im the only one who found that funny :/

  • @cretinKJ haha, no not the ONLY one:)

  • @cretinKJ lulz

  • Again.It helps!)))

  • there is this video of a guy singing warming up i need some help to know if it is head or falsetto it would make me understand will someone help me :) i will show you the video

  • i would love a video explaining what technique nick pitera is using when he sings in that tone that sounds like a woman in chest voice =]

  • @MeeAndChicken He is singing in the mix. I can also do it. He is using the mix voice. Try singing scale from your low register to your higher register but without screaming or increasing the power and volume. Try to connnect the voices without breaking or cracking. Try first doing that with tongue trill or lip roll ;)

  • Does falsetto only apply to men?

  • @distortionxoverdrive Not only, there is girl's falsetto.

  • @distortionxoverdrive No. If you go by Brett's definition of falsetto, of course girls can do that too. It's just that girls have a 'longer' range of headvoice (and their speaking voice is often near to or in headvoice) so it's easier for them to connect into 'headvoice', without the whispery sound characteristic of falsetto

  • So does a counter tenor sing in head voice or falsetto ?

  • @dachampishea Head voice I believe...but in my opinion, a truly authentiv countertenor uses head voice

  • @dachampishea He sings in trained headvoice. Countertenors work to make the sound very strong and supported, and work to bring down th headvoice, so that they can sing low notes as a woman would.

  • @dachampishea head voice

  • thanks man!

  • his voice is similar to harley of sean cody :D

btw Brett is a great mentor

  • I still don't understand head voice :(

  • @OfficialNickNakama Head voice is out of the chest. The vibration can be felt in the top of the head, and not the chest. Head as connection and cord closure.

Falsetto is more breathy has "Hissss" and can go into whisper. Brett's explanation is pretty clear here. If you listen to other vids on the subject, or better yet test the two voices in your own body, it will make more sense.

  • i love you Brett and how u teach, your really great

  • I always rely on my spectrogram to help me determine whether I am singing in head voice or falsetto. It was interesting to watch Brett's spectral analysis when he was flipping from head to falsetto. There was a noticeable difference, it was like he lost a lot of his formants when he flipped to falsetto.

  • @mradaChris what´s an spectogram?

  • @marisolmongelosm It is a spectral analysis tool that shows you the note your a singing along with the formants in your voice and at what intensity. The singer's formant (2500 - 3000 Hz range) is what is considered sufficient to be heard over an orchestra. In falsetto you wouldn't be able to get that kind of frequency response. Go look at my "Crazy" song by Patsy Cline on my videos to see what I am talking about.

  • Well, hi there Brett Manning -says in low, sexy voice- lol I have to say, that was a bit hilarious.

  • @oppositeofme1 Haha I agree :P
