@Pooshooter5k The spark plugs fire at the same time/in pairs , BUT the motor has so-called wasted spark, meaning when a plug fires slightly before the end of the compression stroke and the power stroke begins, the other cylinder's plug fires simultaneously though its cylinder has exhaust stroke at the end. That's why the term 'wasted spark.'

So, while the power stroke is going on, the opposite cylinder has its intake stroke in process. In other words; no double- or big bang.

@Pooshooter5k the old Engine fires in the same deathpoint but onle one works and the other spark do nothing because normal the intake just open and the exhaust closed when the other is in work ... in this movie ... the Valves don't move ... because the designer was to lazy ore to sleepy :-)

Херня, это обычный оппозитник, да ещё и с воздушным охлаждением, наверное для мотоцикла.На авто такие двигатели стоят почти на всех поршах, на субару легаси (дизель, МКПП) и некоторых других. А среди мотоциклов - так он на Урале стоял :-)

это самая охереннная конструкция двигателя. Здесь отсутствует вибрация. Поршни своими движениями уравновешивают двигатель. Прохождение мёртвых точек обеспечивает инерционный маховик. работа мотора плавная и без вибрации. Респек такому выбору!

то есть приеол в том, что цилиндры работают одновременно и по сути их КПД складывается, это почти тоже самое если бы цилиндр был один с удвоиным объёмом и из-за того что поршни расположены аппозитно, инерционные качество намного выше, по этому принципы раотают субаровские движки))

A boxer on a bike it's not a great idea for me. The weight is too far from the centre of the bike it's easy to fall. And it can't even be so low because it's dimension reduce the light on floor.

Actually, having ridden a couple of Dneprs, Urals and a BMW R1150 GS so far, I can tell you that a boxer engine setup gives the motorcycle far greater stability (low speeds are incredible!) than a normal vertical engine would. The width of the engine might make one think it's out of balance, but the two cylinders counter each-other's weight. The cylinders are horizontal rather than vertical, which lowers the overall center of gravity.

Great cooling, too. And it just looks badass.

@skaydayver по другому видео видно что от того вала через другую цепь приводьяся распред валы в головках. Это балансирный + относится к газораспределению получается....

cool demoatraion of the 1200cc boxer engine, 2 reason why boxers are great engines one is they counter each other in vibration and also they lower the the center of gravity of the bike.

@flightestman The engine has to be mounted higher for cornering clearance.

Boxing2 engines are even firing, that means both piston/connecting rod assemblies stop simultaneously. The means high torsional vibrations even with a heavy flywheel.

A 90 degree V twin engine, is the best 2 cylinder motorcycle engine.
