  • Crazy

  • This is not world record! The record are over 300 kilos caught in norway!

  • Nice fish, but youtube is for VIDEOS.

  • should we buy fish with our meaningless money? can nobody see the death of this one as more food and chances for other fish?

  • id be happy to catch youre bait...

  • Whats up with all the vegans and jesus folk commenting on the video

its cool that he caught that big of a fish we dont need a lecture on how we ruined the planet by killing animals

  • Humans see nature as resources that they can take and build their machines. They dont see Nature is most fabuluos technology build around life. It was conceived to feed life right out the box, it needed no hack at all.

And yes, eating, meat as it was said, was probably first done by some mad subject, and then saw as normal for the rest of the history. How many ppl would today cut a little sheep throat, remove his skin, cut into pieces burn it and eat it. Ppl buy a little tray in supermarket.

  • @userwords Friends? Family? Food. It's that easy.

"These are the cries of the carrots, the cries of the carrots! You see, Reverend Maynard, tomorrow is harvest day and to them it is the holocaust."..."Hear me now, I have seen the light! They have a consciousness, they have a life, they have a soul! Damn you! Let the rabbits wear glasses! Save our brothers!"

  • qqqqqqqqqqqqqqq hermozo pez

  • my wish is to one day catch and release one of these huge flounder as we call them...

  • Why dont you drow here back in the sea? She is older than you guys.

If you like your sport, give here a cans.

  • ive reached this place looking for this specie in risk of extinction. I so understand that the only way humans overpopulating earth will understand that they dont have right to kill other beings or push them against extinction will be reached when they face their own extinction

i really desire to be as soon as now. to stop so much indecence and lack of respect to lives created by universe. Divine creation will take revenge over you.

  • @userwords : You probably just dont eat fish, and you dont understand the concept of catching something for food., because for alot of pacific islanders like my self, ocean is where we get our food (we dont like burgers). Are you saying we shouldnt eat a fish like this if we caught one? and how did you know they are near extinction? data estimates are not close to exact. Someone counted them under water? Breed them if you thing they're decreasing in volume, thats is how you can help.

  • @khnathan29 Every single life form in earth comes from a single mother cell. Every single member of animalia reign share more than 50% of genes. Fruit fly shares around 60% genes with any human, a fish shares around 85% of genes and chimpanzee shares 99.9% of genes. They are not food. They are members of life family. They are parents to any human and really near genetically.

From nutrition point, human teeth are fructivore teeth, not designed to eat meat or grass. Just fruits. Jainism bless u

  • @userwords Thank you for all that information. If you are saying that we are all connected to other animals, are we not connected with plants also since without the plants ,our existence would be impossible. How can we eat vegetables if they are also part of the cycle? I respect Jainism because I believe that all the core beliefs of jainism is about goodness, and Im yes to that. But how is it ok for us to eat vegies but not animals?..

  • @khnathan29 Part 1 Im gonna tell you something that confused me, and then shocked me when i put the pieces together. Fruit plants usually produce fruits carring seeds. Why?. Because they just got bored and said, Hey, lets make a tomato? :). Then i read that those fruits contained nutrients surrounding seeds because if they mature and fall to soil those nutrients serve the seed to grow. And THEN i learned that in fact was more scary than that.

  • @khnathan29 Part 2 Fruit seeds are covered by a thin membrane layer protecting them from being digested. So the plant is in fact creating a delicious fruit to feed us knowing that we, animals, will take them, carry them, eat them, and throw the seed, if they are too big, far from them to grow. But other times they are tiny seeds (kiwi, strawberry, grapes) that we will eat with the fruit then defecate far from the plant and surrounded with poop serving as manure to make the new plant grow.

  • @khnathan29 Part 3 Now tell me, how the heck the plant knows that. How the heck the plant knows that we eat, that we like colorfull fruits, or how our digestion process work so they can build a membrane around the seed to not be digested. I MYSELF DONT KNOW SO MUCH ABOUT HUMAN DIGESTION.

Well the plants doesnt know it. But the creator of life knew it. He created fruit plants to feed us and made us part of the cycle to regrow those plants.

  • @khnathan29 Part 4 And in fact, jainism masters do not eat other plant parts like leaves or roots (potato is a tuber root, spinach are leaves, and so on) because they know they are contradicting God way to feed us.

And remember our theeth are not vegetarian like cows, or carnivorous like dogs, they are fructivores teeth, so you get more and more proofs, scary facts around us, putting some sense in things most humans just dont question or try to understand.

  • @khnathan29 Part 5 Last part. Our first and worst sin was the creation of agriculture, as it leaded to destroy Creator nature and overpopulation, making natural way to geeet food near to impossible.

  • @userwords Part 1. I agree with all of those things. Reminds me of the movie AVATAR by James Cameron. Anyways, how I wish everyone on this planet is thought and brought up to being ,with full training and respect to nature. We, humans, are lazy and stuborn, and are always not satisfied with what we have.(Heres a story) Millions of years ago One of our close relatives maybe decided to stop eating fruits, and decided to take revenge to that saber tooth tiger who ate his brother ( Just a Theory ).

  • @userwords Part 2. Think about it. Those plants have no idea that they are providing food for us ,so as the person who started all of this carnivorous act. He didnt know that it was a big deal to eat tigers. He ate the tiger cause he was mad, and he liked the taste of that so they kept eating those tigers from then on. Then they the mentality was past to their children and grand childrens. Everything has a reason, and without that tiger revenge theory , there wouldnt be a Jack n the box today.

  • Tasteless stringy meat? I don't know about you but i love Halibut its my most favorite sea

  • nice video ? thou why did u not keep the meat . thanks i dont know a lot about this fishing .

  • That's a nice halibut!

  • Halibut is like #1 tasting fish in the world

  • Umm this aint the biggest halibut in the world. A friends of me got a dad that got a halibut on over 400 kg.

  • you know im a fisher too and i congratulate you to your catch, but seeng how big this fish is and howe old he must have been i cant help but feel that its not ok to kill him after he survived for so long in the wild water, thats just my opinion no offense :)

  • @Cthun he was probably around when reagan did his thing

  • murderers.

  • @luvfreak911 ....haahaha that was a joke right?

  • how long did it take to get that son of a bitch out of the water?

  • Smaklig måltid! Pålägg för resten av ditt liv ;)

  • since you killed it did you get the ear bones?

  • What the music ??? please

  • yeah dude you should have released that fish... halibut like that taste terrible.

  • Det er altså en ordentlig satan det der tillykke med det.

Kan man fange Helleflyndere i danske farvande

  • You didn't have to shoot it like they do in Alaska? What gives?

  • very cool we are days away from starting our halibut sportfishing season over here in the pacific. really deep water right now but cant wait for some of this shallow water stuff, nice video's

  • The fish was given to the local School on the Island were it was caught, and we do try to C&R all fish we catch as you can see an all my other videos here. Take a look at Fish4U - Halibut +300 lb still alive - catch-n-release

  • @per2fish4u ...Good Catch..Its a shame that the old fishermen down home years ago never cared about world records. They were most interested in feeding themselves and making a living. The reason I clicked on your link was to see what the world record might be. I assure you, your 444 pounder must have been a thrill but was a relatively small one compared to the halibut that was brought from sea to the fishplant one morning when I was younger. It tipped the scale at 632 pounds.Caught on handline.

  • @alphawhiskeysquadren shutup dude

  • @alphawhiskeysquadren you are an idiot

  • @alphawhiskeysquadren really and how is that

  • @alphawhiskeysquadren amen brother.. another dead female breeder all for the sake of a trophy. Wouldnt feed that meat to the homeless here in AK so you know these "sports" threw it out. Mabey they can chew on the fiberglass mount. Thanks for reducing the gene pool a little more. My grandkids will thank you for ridding the ocean of these monsters so we all can live in a world with a sterilized ocean, but damn you'll have the mount to stare at wont you?

  • @alphawhiskeysquadren shut the fuck up

  • @alphawhiskeysquadren exactly so when they spawn 100,000 more halibut are born so the population is at check not like having an overpopulated group of fish that starve to their death.... just F.Y.I

  • sikken fangst! Solgte du den eller? :)

  • Its just a big flounder

  • WR bin ich mir nicht sicher! muss ich mit nem Foto vergleichen!

  • there was a fhalibut cought in a fishing net a long time ago that was 1000 pounds the pic is in homer

  • thats a monster...stop ur crying..whats done is done...people are always going to catch fish and keep'em weather you like it or not...if you feel like putting your cape on...go stop the japs that do commericial tuna fishing...and whale hunting...halibut is a huge abundence out in alaska....they perserve the fuck out of those fish as well..

  • Learn how to spell buddy. COMMERCIAL tuna fishing is not only in Japan. Its all over the world, perhaps the Japanese do it too much. That i can agree on, but hey if you have money there's no limit to what you can do. Money makes the world go round. Whale hunting is unacceptable, i agree. But but hey don't point fingers, its not just them. Its everybody, there not the only country to do whale hunting, US probably has whalers too, we just don't hear about it because they want to keep it on the DL.

  • I honestly Do not understand what your reply has to do on what I said, but just agreeing on everything. I really don't care on how my spelling is on this forum, as long as you can understand the shit I'm saying. If you do want to talk shit about my grammer...change your "screen name" and spell it right..other wise..stfu!

  • Its how its spelt in hawaii dummy, come to my neighborhood and get fcked up. You're pointing fingers at the Japanese and its an insult to use the word japs. I just said don't point fingers. Don't tell me to stfu, FCK you. Stupid Ha'ole you stfu.

  • HAHA! ok...buddy watever u say hommie...come to your neighborhood and get fucked up? puhah! u obviously dont know who the fuck u is talkin too...bitch ass nigga...

  • hahaha ok come to aniani place in waipahu. COME. you think you hot shit.

  • The IGFA pacific halibut was caught at Dutch Harbor 1996 by Jack Tragis 459 lbs.

  • why kill it ? :O :/

  • Such a great video...best I've done is a 90 lbs dressed :-[

  • PLEASE THE NAME OF THE MUSIC! SOO GOOD!! and good video too :D but there is a new record of 211kg :D

  • if they killed it why wouldnt they get IGFA to look at it for a world record!`?

  • Trophy hunters should be shot with a ball of thier own shit!

That poor thing would taste horrible, let the breeders go and kill one smaller for eating!

  • agreed (richhaida)

i dont believe in killing anything for sport. Food is different, but just for braiging rights and mounting it, its a waste if a beauty.

  • you`re right Rich Haida

those big fishes have to left back in the water!!!!

  • im going to helnessund in the 29th Agust, where they took the new record very recently :D

  • nytt världs record e 212 kg

  • HOLY SHIT

did you have to buy a new freezer for all the meat?

  • Nice fish guys, if indeed it is a world record which it may well be, from what i understand from the IGFA rules it should have been disqualifyed, at 0.44 theres a pic of the angler resting the rod on the rail of the boat, this is not allowed there for is not eligible. ? any thoughts on this?

  • i dont no what record books your lookng is but the world record halibut was caught in dutch harbor alaska and weighs 459lb...so maybe change the name of your video...but a nice fish regardless!

  • Please get your facts straight, before posting, i just makes you look stupid!

  • Great job on the video :)

  • WOW! Nice catch man, It is my life long dream to catch a fish like that. I love fishing it is my fav sport but i have only had the privlige to go ocean fishing once in my life, but that turned out pretty bad because the captain was a jerk but the fishing was alright we caught a few salmon (coho) even though we went for halibut but sadly it was to choppy out there lol so yeah. Good luck with the fishin!

  • i know that is really awesome... but in some ways it sucks.. killing such a huge an awesome fish. im def down with eating it or throwing it back.

  • what is the difference between a halibut and flounder. .. i catch flounder on the gulf coast all the time.. but only 2-5 pounds

  • do these fish lay on the bottom ?

it looks like they onky have 1 side to them.

  • yes they are botton feeders

  • WOW how long was the fight for that? My dream is to catch a Halibut at least half that size. To get that one would be better though lol

  • so what did you end up doing with the fish? did you eat it over a couple of months, or was it sold commercially?

  • The fish was given to the local School on the Island were it was caught

  • @per2fish4u what did they teach it at the school

  • Nice catch. some confusion about the world records. IGFA got 2 different records for the two different species,

    Hippoglossusx2 (Atlantic Halibut) and

Hippoglossus Stenolepis (Pacific Halibut). The resembles eachother but

are two different species. The Pacific halibut

seem to be more resistant against warm water than the Atlantic one. I hope everyone fishing wil do the outmost to protect them and not overfish them.

  • THANX! Good to see there are more IGFA members out there. We encourages everyone to Catch-N-Release Halibuts, This WR fish was one of the few actually being killed in our boat last year, as U can see an all our other videos, just search for fish4U.

  • Thanks and keep up the good work, my member# in IGFA is 1232010 not a low number but I encourage all interested in

    seafishing to join.

  • Not world record, the record is out of ALaska.....459 lbs, and counting!!!!

  • It is!! ATLANTIC!! Halibut If U read the description U would know! If U ever catch a ATLANTIC Halibut over there it sure would be a record. As it would be if we would catch a PACIFIC Halibut here!!!

  • Ok, sooooo there is no diffenernce, it is a right eye flounder/flatfish, and the species is exactly the same.......(Pleuronectidae) is the scientific name for the Halibut that thrives in both the Norht Atlantic and the Pacific, and IGFA will tell you the same, it is a big Halibut, but not a World Record!!! Get you facts straight, and we can talk some more, and I am not taking away from the fact that it is BIG!! It also has to weighed on a certified IGFA scale and set by three witnesses.

  • Sorry Dude, U lost me there. Yes they are in the same family and so is European Plaice, a small fish by the way!! I am very familiar with the IGFA rules, there are records on both Atlantic and Pacific Halibut. In this video it says UNOFFICIAL WR on ATLANTIC Halibut Hippoglossus Hippoglossus.

  • I guess that since you hvaent made any more comments, you got YOUR facts straight!

  • Comment removed

  • WOW thats Awesome!!!

  • good catch!!

  • what did u catch it on

  • bait fish (Pollock) U see it at 3:06 in this video

  • Cool! Its 2 monsterlike 4 living in norway xD.
