Som liten husker jeg at mine foreldre alltid skrudde ned lyden på TVen og fyrte litt ekstra lyd på stereo-anlegget (Ja Tandberg,hva ellers?) da vi så på fotballkamper på "tvangskanalen" NRK. Jeg husker soleklart forskjellen da min mor skulle sammenligne kommentatorene til tider: -På NRK selvfølgelig, hørtes det ut som de kommenterte en engelsk kongelig begravelse, - mens på stereoen i stua hørtes det ut som om selveste Bjørge Lillelien var på vei ut gjennom pappen på høytalerene

Umm... den radiokanalen dere hørte på... det var NRK det også.

Men Bjørge var den beste. Jeg har boka med CD-er med lydklipp fra radiosportens historie, som NRK ga ut for noen år siden. Bjørge Lillelien er fyldig representert der. Men jeg skulle gjerne hørt flere klipp med ham, gjerne fra mer hverdagslige ting enn den festen som Englandskampen ble.

Han gjorde også andre ting enn å kommentere ski og fotball, iallfall tidlig i radiokarrieren.
