  • @vivneedle. no doubt, we're definitely referring to the same Leroy, sorry you had to hear about his death on here. At least we can share our memories of him. Sorry it took me so long to reply, only just seen your post. x

  • hey you purley by coincidence happen to be the one that i love.tune, should have become famous ,as michael jackson, just as good if not better ,didn't get the chance ,like many others who had no money, but had plenty of talent, probably not bothered about the money at the time, just did it out of wanting to ,but should have been recognised for their naturl ability xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

  • Wow! This is like Sad Sweet Dreamer Part II! Great stuff. Real music. Timeless stuff.

  • Man what great memories of final years of school

  • This is the TRUE Sweet Sensation! Forget about that totally unrelated girl group of the same name from the 80's, this is the real deal!

  • Fine song also! **** rating on 5 ofcourse!

  • this song reminds of being 16, my first job and starting to go to proper night clubs- happy days

  • sweet group'sweet songs

  • great song & band. takes me right back. thanx 4 postin.

  • Leroy Smith, the keyboard player was a great friend of mine. Myself, Leroy, Eric his brother and a big gang of us used to hang around Old Trafford where we grew up. Leroy, sadly, was found dead in his flat above his cafe in Manchester in 2008. He was a beautiful man. Love you brother.

  • @jamierennie1 Was that his Chickin Lickin? He was a great friend of mine 82- 98 off City Road there. Didn't know he had passed on. Sad night for me tonight....Good man, gentle man and gentleman. RIP to a great musician/composre/lyricist and lover!

  • @jamierennie1 Smithy was in my class at school & was also a friend of mine... I was working as a warden at Sale Water Park last time I saw him, he was buzzing because he just bought his first sports car from the money he scored from "Sweet Sensation".... man, I just got shivers reading about his death... I feel sick.

  • Hey beannie45 - I saw your band at a club in Birmingham called Barbarellas - time ago now. You supported Brass construction; I thought you were bloody ace, my g/f thought you were better than BC ! Respect

  • sweet memories also from holland

  • Had the pleasure of working with Leroy Smith for many years in our band Rokotto, post Sweet Sensation, he was a great fellow musician, more importantly an honest man and a friend..god bless you Leroy.....Steve

  • R.I.P. Leroy, or chicken George as he was known localy here in Longsight, Manchester, a man who not only cared for his community, and gave free sample meals to local folk, but also is part of the legend of sweet sensation.

  • Off-topic, I know, but I'll give you an idea just how dated Tony Hatch's book was (even at the time of its publication).

While the Sex Pistols were limbering up to take the world by storm, Tony was quietly confident in predicting a folk-rock revival!

  • The score for this was also included (alongside that of "Sad Sweet Dreamer") in Tony Hatch's "So You Want To Be In The Music Business".

Most of the book is now hopelessly dated (it was published in 1976), but the section on commercial arranging is still great. It's a shame that Tony Hatch didn't write a complete book on the subject.

  • I can just listen to this time and time again it takes me back to the comfort of home!!

  • What a classic song

  • It must be good. Please somebody post it!

  • A fab record always was RIP Marcel you have not and will not be forgotten.

  • RIP Marcel and your son. We loved you guys. Thanks for the everlasting Great music and memories, from a long gone Great era in music.... When music was music, and not manufactured garbage.

  • been looking for this song for ages thanks :0)
