@scabobble That was not a quote by me - I was quoting a very prominent surgeon - Dr. Michael Edye, Mt. Sinai Medical Center, New York City. The hospitals tell the donors about risks before kidney donation - and it's on my website as well. You can read Dr. Edye's interview on my website that was in the New York Daily News, called "What Prospective Donors Need to Know." I know 2 people who donated a kidney and had him as a surgeon and were very happy with him!

@DerAbstrakte Hi, sorry for the dealy. I have been so busy. My scar is so light, you can barely see it. I would need a professional photographer to take a picture of it, but can't afford to do so. Sorry.

I had open operation as opposed to laproscopic, because of the way my kidney was connected. Did very well, thank G-d, but it did hurt for maybe a couple of weeks when I would pull myself out of bed or if I had to laugh or cough.

Absolutely! I assume you saw my posting on Craigs List seeking a kidney donor for someone? Yes, one race can donate a kidney to another as I had made a match in which the person who received a kidney was African-American and the donor was white.
