Rending couldnt Hurt the Monolith and Monolith cant use flux arc and particle whipin same turn, Particle Whip is also small blast not large blast.

@Spacefrisian you can fire both weapons as ony the gauss flux arc is in the monolith weapon profile the partical whip come under the power matrix listing and cant be weapon destroyed it can even fire if the monolith is shaken or stunned and the particle whip is an ordnance weapon so its a large blast *codex page 21*

Rending claws can't hurt a Monolith because of it's living metal, same with meltas, chainfists and a slew of other shit. That would have changed to game drastically

Genestealers can't take down a monolith, you should have strenght at least 8 to glance it and 9 to penetrate it's armour, swarm of genstealers simply can't do it, the monolith can't use particle whip and gauss flux in same round neither, learn the rules guys...

against a tyrannid horde army it's really nice to just sit back w/ ur warriors and push things away from ur warriors/counter assault. i wouldn't have had the monollith deep strike. i would have had it on the board from the begining dropping templates. giving additional rez rolls and eventually pulling units out of cc and then rapid firing back into them. should have brought some immortals against nids. port out of cc. shoot counter assault. T5 and the charging bonus should win it for u

@boredomdisease kinda right but Chess is a demanding strategic game where you must always react to an ever changing opponent, whereas in 40k is a pre-organized strategic battle against an unchanging stimulus with a large luck element and limited options on what you can actually do... I wouldn't give 40k much credit except for the process of creating the army, rather than controlling it.

@therockbottom4561 i wudnt go necrons. theyre a great army, but they take a lot of patience as their only troop choise is necron warriors, and as much as theyre great in shootage, painting heaps of them gets very old, very quick. i started with necrons, got bored pretty quick. i moved to necrons and havent changed since. good luck :)

Someone help!

Im trying to decide between tyranids OR imperial guard but I just cant decide. They both have extensive miniatures range but IG is a little bit bigger. I do like the ability to field so many units to drown my opponent in his own blood tyranids).

On the other hand i like IG tanks. My favorite miniature is the macharius super-heavy but i cant decided lol. Someone help.

Note: I plan on raising my army to apoc size with super-heavies/hierodules. Thanks!

Seems like some people are saying a Tyranid vs. Necron bout is implausible in the 40k storyline, but I don't think so. The Necrons like to sleep underneath a world's surface, so some other race/faction could exist on top. The Tyranids would arrive and eat them, then the 'Nids terraforming would wake up the Necrons and they'd be all like "GTFO" and such. It'd be a battle of who's getting off of who's (dead) lawn. :D

@MRIMPALERZ899 Depends what you like: the marines are durable and flexible, you can change your tactic if things don't go your way. They are, of course, common as muck: everyone and their grandma wants to play them. So, if you like super-human elite soldiers and tanks, go for the marines. The Tyranids, on the other hand, are a mass of aliens with several big guys slamming stuff around (thing Zerg from Starcraft). It's up to you, really.
