First heard this in my youth fellowship class, must have been 1970ish. My all time favorite since then. One of the highlights in my life was when my three children sang it to me for one of my birthdays, and my son was able to play the piano piece exactly as Cat. Great memories!

@ilovemypersiancats Oh, this is the Cat, no doubt about that! It'll always be one of the most bueatiful songs to have topped the pop charts. The one thing that has it stand apart from other love songs is that it isnt a typical love song like "This I Promise You" by Nsync, which is right up there amongst the most buatiful love song...nothing broken hearted about either other than feeling sentimental, which is more the case with Cat Stevens. What happened to the Cat anyway, he's not the same

You have been *MISINFORMED*. I just finished watching a documentary biography of Cat Stevens/Youself Islam. He condemned the Fatwah on Rushdie, it was the Fleet Street Gossip Press of the UK that spread that.

He has NEVER performed before any terrorist group. A girl wrote to say his songs kept her from suicide, he decided to go on the road again. His music is spiritual and is used by the CHRISTIAN church as hymns.

He works, a lot, to earn and give $ to Charities for kids and those in need.
