Is there a way to get other books other than Matthew? The book of Acts for example? I can find E-Bibles, but none of them are as good as this. Is there one as good as this for Acts?
Well, this is my expertise... Let's dance. I'm going to exercise your knowledge a bit, so please don't get offended. I do not wish to argue, only share ideals and maybe understand you a little. Please don't take me as, "Battling", because I'm not. To your remark about, "No other gospel or history records this." Friend, that's a simple solution because no other gospel or history reveals as much as the Bible.
Some prophecies are "fulfilled" by the simple expedient of inventing and writing a fulfillment that never happened in fact. An example is Matthew 2:13-15, which has Jesus as a child being hauled off to Egypt to escape the "slaughter of the innocents". Neither the move to Egypt nor the slaughter ever took place. Matthew wrote this lie to be able to say "And so was fulfilled what the Lord had said through the prophet: "Out of Egypt I called my son." " No other gospel or history records this.
@Imaginefree69 As for whether the trip to Egypt or the slaughter ever took place, can only be verified by those who made the trip or experienced the slaughter.
Jesus doesn't tell us to believe in every word of man, (which has some participation in recording events in the Bible), but every word of God. Friend, God is more mysterious than you and I will ever figure out. But He is a forgiving God.
@Imaginefree69 Jesus said in the book of Matthew that, "Man cannot live by bread alone, but by every word of God". To me, folks who intercede writings or other sources of material, are living by bread. We should live by the word of God. In fact, I don't believe it's important, whether or not that trip existed, or if, even, in fact, whether or not the slaughter took place.
@Imaginefree69 What I will say is that, I believe Joseph fled from Egypt for a reason. I believe in my heart, it was because somehow, however that may have been, God told him to. What are your thoughts? God bless you, friend.
@brentcanfield Why do you keep telling me what you "believe in your heart"? I mean, I don't want to be cruel, but your beliefs are totally beside the point. beliefs do not affect reality. Matthew invented a lie to "fulfill the prophecy." If this massacre were a genuine historical event there would be lots of evidence of it. And at least his co-disciples might have backed him up. but they did not. It's a lie contained in a book of lies.

The weak infant is burning in his crib. I am watching his tender flesh burning away. The flames are blackening the body of fragility. Clouds of smoke have filled the manger. The child's screaming has finally stopped. The incinerated skin crumbling faintly to the ground. I stare at the corpse and now remove the skull. It is time to return to the depths of doom. As demons praise my return. I enter my crypt and place the trophy above my shrine. Behold! The son of god is now dead!
HE is risen!!!!and now demons shake, and run scared at the mention of HIS name, for they know that the time will come when the Satan himself will BOW DOWN and worship GOD and HIS son, before burning in hell!
A dark army marching in the twilight. A sorcerer leading his horde. It's the night when cowardly faith will die. Minions of the Devil soon to be dancing. And urinating on the body of christ. Tears of rage falling from god's eyes. Which are drowned out by laughter from the night. Where demons are now celebrating. White souls to the slaughter in the dark land. Where Lucifer has left his trail. We rise in the shadows of his kingdom. This night of Satan will never come to an end.
You're really not that knowledgeable about the truth of Christ, are you? It's from your own lips that procalims Him, God. Spend the time that you use in discounting Christ and put it to good works in proclaiming him King and you will have a place in eternal Heaven. God bless you, friend.
If Joseph had been a "righteous" man, he would have stoned Mary at the city gate, as commanded.

@brentcanfield "no other gospel or history reveals as much as the Bible."
That's just a religious cliché.
No historian accepts as truth the account of a single witness.
In fact, Jesus himself is quoted as saying tat a single witness is insufficient,
so unless you have other sources, Matthew's account is meaningless.
Honestly, there is no point in your using religious clichés as support,
because they are nothing of the kind.

@brentcanfield "can only be verified by those who made the trip or experienced the slaughter. "
In that case this conversation and all of history is pointless.
" I don't believe it's important, whether or not that trip existed, or if, even, in fact, whether or not the slaughter took place"
Okay, now we know what you believe.
Rational thought, however, finds it quite important,
as it is the difference between Matyhew's gospel being historically credible
or simply self-serving LIES.

@hagymanutube What does the Bible really say?
Aside from the unicorns and talking snakes and donkeys
and the requirement to practice ritualized cannibalism
we see that your god commanded his people
to rip little girls from the bloody arms of their dead mothers
and take them home to enjoy
and to share them with YHVH's priests.
This is the book you are basing your morality on?

@brentcanfield Rather than indulging in diversionary tactics and clichés,
how about addressing some of the truths I have offered for discussion?
The fairy tales and evils and lies in the Bible?
Imaginefree69 1 year ago
@hagymanutube "HE is risen!!!!and now demons shake, and run scared at the mention of HIS name"
Hahahaha!!!!!
Most amusing.
BTW,
If hell was made for Satan and his angels,
why are there billions of people in hell,
some having been there for 6,000 years,
and yet Satan and his angels are still free and happy?
