Critising a guitarist for their 'lack of soul' is absolutely ridiculous. Take a look at the best fingerpick guitarists in the world; ulli boegershausen, Andy Mckee and Mason Williams. They don't dance around on stage do they? No, because they don't need to!
@TheNakedQuack you miss understood what he means by soul. Its hard to describe but i can play some andy mckee stuff and even though i can play them pretty much note perfect, it will never sound the same as when andy plays it. Because there is so much passion in the way he plays. Thats what separates a good guitarist from an amazing guitarist.
I have listened to this one very carefully over and over again. What a great tune and an almost surreal melody, kind of haunting melody. It is complex yet stirring and sincere. If you wrote this one you hit a home run. This is some of the best of the best here on you-tube.
