Too be honest, this game is really decent, having no HUD makes it look much better, havent played online but getting soon but its still great on my own. Gameplay 10/10 Graphics 10/10 Total score 10/10.
i think they've spoilt the game from the original ps2 version, all they needed to do was upgrade the graphics and story and online modes then include larger/more complicated arenas. Instead they chose to change controls the grenades therefore taking the gameplay down a notch overall this a better game but they made changes where they needn't have this has let the game and the original fans down. concentrated too much on the little details and forgot other essentials. still a great game
well if that's your opinion i can't change your mind but i feel it had the best gameplay of any FPS i've ever played and they only really need to change/ improve almost everything else, but different people different tastes.
Hehe. COD4, eat your heart out. Though still. COD4, on 360 for example, is still great cause of the raw POWER behind that game. Doesn't matter what console, like when you're using the Marines escorting the War Pig. 360 or PS3, that level is QUALITY.

Seriously? Play it, then comment again. This game is the highest quality shooter on the market right now. The gameplay is a blast, the multiplayer is fantastic, the visuals are unmatched, the only thing it lacks is split-screen.
you can enable or disable the crosshair. also you can enable and disable the ammo display in the corner and alll of that so you can just see what a real person would see
I have both also, and I must say that I would play my PS3 more, if I didn't have a modded 360 :P. Resistance 2 has great multiplayer as does LBP, and it still has all of the Call of Duty games everyone loves. Go PS3, you won't regret it.

Definately ps3, look at the 2009 line up, Killzone 2 alone kills every single game exclusive/multi platform and the free online comes with DEDICATED SERVERS with no lag..

I agree at some points here, however I must say that I'd go for an Xbox 360. you only get 3 rings if YOU overheat the console, by an extra set of fans and you're alright. You don't need a HDTV to have the advantages of blueray either. More space and scratch proof dicsc is great to have.
Little Big Planet, Resistance, God of War, War Hawk, Tachet and Clank, and Metal Gear Solid are bad games imo. I don't like them at all. I never said that CoD4, RSLV and GRAW were exclusive, and I don't play halo 3 myself but many others do. However, I did not know about the scratch proof discs.. sounds like something microsoft should have put into their 360's as they keep on scratching every fucking game I have.. lol

LittleBigPlanet = 9/10 from Gamespot and others.
Resistance 2 = 9/10 from Gamespot and others.
Halo 3 = 9.5/10 from Gamespot
Gears of War 2 = 9/10 from Gamespot
The only games to get a 10/10 from Gamespot in the 2008 year were Grand Theft Auto 4 and Metal Gear Solid 4, which means that the only way to play the two best games of the year is to have a PS3.

I was a little short of space and couldn't mention too many games, but those are my favorite ones, haven't tried fable 2 and probably won't as i didn't like the first one. An FPS is a First Person Shooter. This game is in first person not counting cinematics, which nobody does count. You shoot (with a gun, by the way)and it is therefore a shooter. Trying to say this game isn't a first person shooter is like trying to say game consoles are not for games. They are and have other elements as well. Just as this game is an FPS with other elements, even if I haven't seen them yet...

you know in real life bullets dont make you go backwards as that much, mythbusters tested it, even with a powerful gun it wont blow you of your feet, the pain will make you wall, and it could be forwards, or onto your knees, depending on what you do when in pain

I have a ps3 60gb, only had one problem in it's life time. I've known two mates that have had red ring of death, one had to get a new 360 and lose most of his data, and the other, well his survived. just.
Also just for the record 360 failure rates have been reduced to 14% on new premiums and elite 360s, also i cant wait for this game looks like it will be good, but im personally preferring gears of war 2, i think that some things (like grenade weakness) may fuck the game up bit.

Im not a fanboy but MGS4 sales were 3 million after 12 weeks, and Gears of war sales were 4.5 million after 12 weeks, i think Halo sold like 2.5 mil in 12 weeks. Also gears did win game of the year and graphics of the year.

*Muzzle flashes in first-person view are a bit lame. Make'em more lively, realism be damned! Same thing with grenade explosions and other pyrotechnic effects. They seem a bit weak. I want to get sucked in by the visceral experience when I play.

I was a little short of space and couldn't mention too many games, but those are my favorite ones, haven't tried fable 2 and probably won't as i didn't like the first one. I'm not a fanboy, I've simply never been enough interested in the PS3 to read about its games. Killzone is great, I give them that but still, the prize of the console itself is ridiculas.

An FPS is a First Person Shooter. This game is in first person not counting cinematics, which nobody does count. You shoot (with a gun, by the way)and it is therefore a shooter. Trying to say this game isn't a first person shooter is like trying to say game consoles are not for games. They are and have other elements as well. Just as this game is an FPS with other elements, even if I haven't seen them yet...
We could call it a shooter in first person, if you like.

you know in real life bullets dont make you go backwards as that much, mythbusters tested it, even with a powerful gun it wont blow you of your feet, the pain will make you wall, and it could be forwards, or onto your knees, depending on what you do when in pain

I'm not defending ps3, but honestly, i don't mind putting up with warranty. i've had to send my 360 back 2 times, and 0 times for my ps3, but i have seen my friends do it and it doesn't take long. so i honestly couldnt care less. i hardly play games so warranty doesnt concern me as much as geeks out there haha

crysis shows graphics POTENTIAL but the game is way too short compared to PS3 shooters and mouse + keyboard = cryzy firing, camping...basically first one to shoot wins, no fun, no tactics.
even in COD4 on PC, people play like its unreal tournament.

I have a ps3 60gb, only had one problem in it's life time. I've known two mates that have had red ring of death, one had to get a new 360 and lose most of his data, and the other, well his survived. just.

Also just for the record 360 failure rates have been reduced to 14% on new premiums and elite 360s, also i cant wait for this game looks like it will be good, but im personally preferring gears of war 2, i think that some things (like grenade weakness) may fuck the game up bit.

Im not a fanboy but MGS4 sales were 3 million after 12 weeks, and Gears of war sales were 4.5 million after 12 weeks, i think Halo sold like 2.5 mil in 12 weeks. Also gears did win game of the year and graphics of the year.

Stuff to be changed:
*Muzzle flashes in first-person view are a bit lame. Make'em more lively, realism be damned! Same thing with grenade explosions and other pyrotechnic effects. They seem a bit weak. I want to get sucked in by the visceral experience when I play.
