Is there any way to delete the saved game in the real cartridge? I got one as a present but it came with all minigames unlocked, and I can't find a way to reset the game to zero. I wish I could understand what the manual says.
good question. there is a second battery in the NGPC, a watch battery. maybe removing that (or flipping it upside down to reverse the charge) will erase.
Apparently the battery only holds system settings and current time, but no saved games. They're stored in flash memory inside the cartridges themselves. Which means that I still have to find a way to delete the previous game.
@chuchunain You need to press and hold 'A', then press and hold 'B' and finally press and hold 'Option' (all this while in Neo Poke-kun's room). The screen will go black and you'll be asked if you want to erase the saved game.
Pressing a direction is not enough, you actually have to press and hold the direction for a response. Also, when he is in his worst moods, a visitor or pressing down will typically raise his mood a bit. When he's thinking hard or playing a game, the turning the light on makes him happy. If he starts exercising, he is most likely to go and work. If he's doing crunches, let him finish. Often he will go program afterwards.
Are there multiple versions/editions of this game? I have both a rom and the actual cart and between the two I've noticed a few discrepancies: On the cart, a static effect is used to transistion from the game menu back to the room. On the rom, a fade to black effect is used. Also, on the cart, the 'Congratulation' screen is rendered in wireframe 3d on a white background. On the rom, there is only white letters on a black bg. There may be more differences. Perhaps someone could elaborate.
interesting observations! i do own the cart as well but never played much. ill have to take a closer look.
since ROM images are actual dumps of the carts themselves, i would imagine there are different versions of the cart in existance but due to the rarity of any of the carts, there is only one ROM out there, which differs from your cart. ill have to see if mine matches up with yours.

Thanks for the vid.

All right - just in case someone else needs it: to delete the saved game, just press and hold A+B+Option and select "Yes" :)

This game is a true underground game for gamers. I love the video. Great job. Great music choice.

I was considering buying this game a while back for the Neo Geo Pocket.. It still looks pretty intresting.

Thanks for posting some footage of the games. If only I could find a way to please the little bugger and unlock some of them myself.

yeah its definately tedious and there does not seem to be any rhyme or reason to it.
i updated the description of the video with a link, check it out and grab the ROM and save state for neopop and save yourself the trouble!

Excellent, I think I'll try that rather than using up all of my batteries waiting for Poke Kun to build me games. Thanks.
