When you turn off the ignition again, everything will go back to normal, if that's what you're asking.

@oxytrue So if this set of clocks is fitted to an alternative vehicle, in my case a transporter van, can I use this to calibrate my speedo? Cos I'm pretty sure it'll read incorrectly when I get round to driving it in a few days time.

1= Distance Impulse number - the number of speedo sender pulses required to +1 the odometer. for miles the number is in the 6000 range, for kilometers the number is in the 3000 range.

2 = Clock display mode - 1: Europe (24 hour time) 2: Canada? 3. UK (12 hour) 4. USA (12 hour) 5. South Africa?

3 = Speedometer and rev. counter code

4 = number of cylinders, or ratio for alternator/engine revolutions. (for tach calibration)

5 = Segment test (lights all LCD segments)

Hey I just tried this, It works on a US version, 1998 MKIII Golf GTI W/ VR6. Pretty cool. Can it do anything else besides the secret tach??

@nickstockwell2003 Yes, but the other functions is not really interesting.

However! If you have a MAF, you can do the same thing, but pressing the maf-button instead, and get for example an real time mpg reader :)

One time, I forgot to turn off the car while filling up, and after filling it up, it still showed that i had almost nothing left. Didn't help to turn the ignition off or anything. So I just did what I did in the video, and bam, it showed the tank was full :)

lmfao this really works.. theres one mode that measures inches.. how many inches you travel. but when its in this mode my gas gauge goes crazy and jumps to empty and jumps all around.

yeah, but some people say that the gas gauge is supposed to be more accurate while in this mode :s

@K64250 it is at testmode ant the interupter (which avoid this jumping) is deactivated, if the fuel move in the fuel tank then U'll see it through the gauge :-)
