This guy is good enough on his soprano sax to be considered of "professional" level if he is not already you who say his vibrato is to "thin" do not know what you are talking about I'm a saxophone major and i honestly lean to the lower saxes but i sound just below this guys level on soprano he is amazing.

No technical ability, mediocre musical emotion, horrid tone, and vibrato is WAY too fast. Especially for this song. And the only reason he appears remotely in tune is because he's playing by himself. Soooo sharp in the high register. And for god's sake, get a thicker reed! He sounds like he's playing on 1 1/2's. And that's being generous.

Frustrated and mediocore musicians, like you, only give negative feedback and act like they know best. You are acting like you're summing up facts. A good musicians would say: I would have used thicker reed, because... Maybe he doesn't like thick reed. You adjust the reed to your own preference. It's more about tension. It hasn't got to do with sounds that much. Don't act like a pro, you are not.

I guess he's fairly decent at what he's doing. I really like him as a person but he really wouldn't get anywhere in the classical or jazz scenes... But I guess that's why he's on the show! It annoyed me that the judges were all "You're just playing an instrument D:" like they're exhibiting any technical instrumental ability.

He's nice to look at, but, being a saxophonist, I know many many other people I'd rather listen to.

I play the Alto and I know that a lot portray the saxophone as either a guy's instrument, like a tough, loud, obnoxious instrument or a jazz instrument. Jazz is indeed a big part of the saxophone but no way is it just tough. The Saxophone is a sweet, cool sound that so many take for granted. He's my hero.
