I have a 029pro and Ill have to look into the 039 specs. Did you use the stock 029 carb? You can order the parts through your local stihl dealer, But I know new piston and cylinders are not cheap.
where'd you get the 039 piston and cylinder? I just replaced the engine on my 029 with a new original 029 engine. I want to rebuild the old one and turn it into an 039.
