damn I loved this series...hehe I still have the Gundam battle damage figures of Gp01 ad Gp02 hanging from my ceiling still fighting lol...and I loved the ship Albion,it had one of the most epic ship designs...although I still like the Archangel a bit more '^^
All the U.C based series covering up to the start of ZZ are near flawless (ZZ was abit too childish at the start) Heck of alot better than the newer stuff, altho Wing was a nice alternative universe series.
There are only a few Gundam series I *really* want to see. G Gundam's the biggest, and I'm watching it right now. But I also want to see Turn A, the original, 08th MS team, War in the Pocket, this... and Double Zeta.
Yes, I know Double Zeta's the black sheep of the series. But it appeals to me.
If you're gonna watch the original and Double Zeta, you REALLY should watch Zeta and Char's Counter Attack also. If you do get into it, F91 takes place a few years after Char's Counter Attack and Crossbone Gundam is a follow up to F91.
I think Gundam X gets the title of the most underrated. Lots of people hate Turn A for a lot of stupid reasons, but at least it has Tomino as a director.
Gundam X has some guy who never did any other really big series except for Might Gaine (another underrated jewel of the 90s) and J-Decker.
I would watch First Gundam (movies), 8th MS Team, Stardust, Zeta (maybe) the second half of ZZ when the story stopped being stupid and Chars Counterattack.
Stardust is a very good series, filling the gaps between First Gundam and Zeta (who are the Titans? Watch Stardust). How did the Federal Gov't change? Stardust. Politics? Stardust. It's worth watching.
I wouldn't recommend the summary movies. They're good for summary movies but to truly experience Gundam, you have to watch the first series in fullness. It's a damn fine masterpiece and near flawless. An even bigger mistake would be watching the Zeta summary movies. That truly needs to be viewed in it's entirety for it is a masterpiece as well. I rank Zeta and the 0079 as my top favorites with 08th being in 3rd. The first two series are the best two series
I agree. I watched 08th MS Team, 0080 and 0083 and it's only now I'm watching 0079. Many of the terms and events mentioned in the mini-series make sense now. I've really gained an appreciation for the entire Gundam franchise now that I'm almost done 0079.
lol wow ur preference is the completely opposite of mine. i think the 08th team opening was pretty good but as for this one i feel it's, like, 'procrasinated '(like the studio threw it all together the night before the deadline or something).
Well, it's really the music I don't like in the 08th Team opening, I just can't stand it, lol. I love the 0083 one with the song, The Winner, which ever one that is. The first one I think. That version is way better than this.
it goes God Gundamn then 0083, hands down. The space ones COME ON!!

@BloodAngel012 It is alot better than wing. And I am not saying this as one of those douchebag "UC has the only good series" fanboys.

I have to say, Kou has one of the best pissed-off-man-with-goals looks out of any of the other Gundam pilots I've seen.
And I've seen quite a few of them.

I *did* watch Char's Counterattack. And I'm gradually getting through Crossbone Gundam and will soon watch the Zeta movies.
Although F91 takes place 30 years after CCA, not a few.
You gonna watch Unicorn Gundam?

GUNDAM UNICORN!!!!!!!!!!!! FTW!
oh by the way watch Turn A Gundam for
it takes place 3000 years in the future
and is seriously the most underrated gundam series ever

X was good average but Turn A was more like a diamond really i found more enjoyable than most of tominos work
But really X didnt deserve the short run they should of paced the amount of gundams released

no, GX would be one of the best Gundam series out of UC time line if SR didnt cut the story line in to WTF just happened?

Havent seen 0083 yet, but this opening is a big let down. It's generic J-pop/rock with some gundams fighting thrown together.

I think the 08th MS Team opening is horrible, but the other version of the opening to 0083 is pretty good.
