Yes you can, it's the same. But I think it's a good thing to learn too G9 'cause in lot of song you can have those chords changing' : G9, C9, Em7, D/F#.. And in that case it's easier to play G9 instead of G because you don't need to move tour little finger and your ring finger.

thats what I thought for many years - but if u keep practice it will com honestly! just keep tryin although you have to know how to play a song very well before u attempt it. Try one of you favourite songs first, something u know really well will make it easier. When u have that break through moment it will spur u on to learn other songs! Good luck!
