Its saddening that a country such as Egypt has such a low GDP, and relies on 7000 year old ancient accomplishments for some kind of glory. I can only blame the crap done by all past arab presidents, and I believe that it will take someone new who actually cares about the country and not their own pockets, and who will shock the economy into the same way South Korea developed. Piping water to remote regions is a must, it has low usable land and many are jobless.
I say all this because besides the 1% super wealthy, the rest of Egypt is shitty in general, and even though I wasn't born there (My parents moved to canada then i was born there and moved to US at 6 back in 2000) I really do care for it. Whatever new government comes into existence must make sure to maintain the non agression pact with Israel, reduce trade with them, begin large scale developments of the industrial and irrigation sector, and bring the nation to an actual respectable state.

Its saddening that a country such as Egypt has such a low GDP, and relies on 7000 year old ancient accomplishments for some kind of glory. I can only blame the crap done by all past arab presidents, and I believe that it will take someone new who actually cares about the country and not their own pockets, and who will shock the economy into the same way South Korea developed. Piping water to remote regions is a must, it has low usable land and many are jobless.

I say all this because besides the 1% super wealthy, the rest of Egypt is shitty in general, and even though I wasn't born there (My parents moved to canada then i was born there and moved to US at 6 back in 2000) I really do care for it. Whatever new government comes into existence must make sure to maintain the non agression pact with Israel, reduce trade with them, begin large scale developments of the industrial and irrigation sector, and bring the nation to an actual respectable state.

The problem I do have with all this nationalism (putting aside all the controversies regarding to protests), is that Egypt, while not as retarded as somalia or most african nations, is still a backwards and disorganized society, thanks to general ineptitude and corruption. The former government should have been tried for treason and sucking Israel's dick. But, in all cases, Egyptians need to stop focusing on their army and instead focus on actually changing themselves and developing Egypt.

Israel only won '73 due to operation Nickel Grass, a massive shipment of military equipment to Israel by the US. The country itself could not have come to a developed state of existence on its own, even if its arab neighbors never tried to invade it. There is no oil in that area, and it would have been limited land. Without being a parasite and leeching off of the US in order to develop some industries while still making healthcare and university free, israel would be much worse off.

That's why the f-16, for instance, is inferior to those of NATO or israeli Air Forces. Hope we can make our own weapons on par to those of the foreigners.

Egypt has ok navy but its airforce is below avarage. Both countrys buy from USA but israel upgrades the weopons and israel also produces his own weapons far more sophisticated then egypt.
