good video demonstration. I never liked pens bc they don't flow the paint consistently along the entire scratch, bc it needs pressure on the surface to get the paint to come out. This is why it comes out bumpy when compared to a micro tip brush designed for touch up paint applications. IMO Micro tip touch up brushes can float the paint smoother and more accurately for multiple passes if necessary.
@blopak clear is not necessary no matter what you may have heard online or other sources that dont do this for a living. Its impossible to do a perfectly leveled touch up applying both base color and clear. Touch up paint Pro's doing hand touch ups sometimes use clear mixed in with the base color to give a little bit more shine. Touch up paint applied correctly and left alone or leveled correctly with solvent or wet sanding is perfectly legit and delivers the best looking result.
@blopak Uh does 20 years restoring vintage Ferraris, and Porches, color matching by eye and panel shooting, replacing metal by hand on vintage Porches...count?
I think I know what I’m talking about. If we are talking about spraying a panel sure you need to shoot clear if you are doing hand touch ups...I don’t know a single guy or girl in the biz that uses clear over base for small scratch and chip touch ups.
where can i buy that paint pen?

How do you smooth out the paint? Does it dry smooth? It looks a little bumpy in the vid.

You want to use clearcoat over the pain pen.

Guess you never owned a body shop. Clear is absolutely essential.
