I think the reason he tilts his head up is because he slightly raises his shots. Added with the topspin he puts into the ball (You can't tell in this video, you can't see the follow through) the ball would probably drive into the net if he didn't hit it a little bit higher.

I think the right hand is eastern grip and this is thhe guiding hand and left hand is early continental and seems to change to western at the end.
