nice review, though i have both an iPad and an iPod touch and i do not have to plug them in to sync or download apps, they can be done via wifi through the app store, it is just for music etc that i have to plug it into iTunes

If Apple Doesn't change their iPad iOS version soon they will lose sales. The iPad version of iOS just looks to much like the phone version but then stretched out. Especially the Springboard. You can make so much more with the screen size of the iPad.

It's not mainstream over here obviously but there are American Football fans and I know plenty of people who went to their local pub to watch the game. It's becoming more and more of a major television event over here, year by year.

So, is Honeycomb tablet-only? I'm guessing they'll have a different version of Android 3.0 for phones, even though that would seem to cause a lot of fragmentation and potential confusion.

800 bucks for a 1280x800, 10 hour battery, Nvidia Tegra, expandable memory, camera, hdmi out, usb port, tablet with a new OS does not sound too bad.

It will be interesting to see what Apple has up their sleeve in regards to the iPad2, but I would honestly be very surprised if it is a huge leap from the first iPad. I'm guessing it will have a couple extra hardware features that should have been present in the first place, but I don't see them messing with the iOS very much. I could be way off, though, and Apple could have made some big steps in improving the iOS tablet experience.

In any case, this is THE tablet right now.

you DONT have to use itunes to get apps on your ipad or iphone or ipod touch. you tap on the blue icon with the A in the center of it.. that takes you to what is called the app store. why would you need it to be browser based when the app store is preloaded onto your device?

@YUPnNOPE his point was you still need a computer to use the device you want to backup the contents = itunes you want to activate it and actually get to using it = itunes with my nexus s i have never once needed to connect it to my computer and i never have it can run by itself that was his point.

Just sold my ipad yesterday to either get ready for the ipad 2, or to keep the money for something else lol. The ipad is a great device, but now that tablets like these are coming out, it will take a lot from apple to impress because the ipad really is underpowered. This is a really promising device, the only part i'm not to happy about is the price plus a data contract. If it lives up to the hype, then it will be worth the cash. If it doesn't then i'll be watching what Apple has to offer.

I love apple almost everything they make, but this is really impressive, and i agree that they have to do a lot to improve ios to come up to par with this tablet, like widgets or a expanding html5 or integrating a free flash to html 5 conversion in safari like the skyfire web browser.

Thats a powerful tablet. Regardless I'm buying the second gen iPad for my brother because I promised him I'd buy him an original iPad! I owe him like 500 bucks and he's obsessed with the iPad lol so it was a no brainer. But he in his 30s and couldn't care less about computers and tech and he wants an iPad. Ghats the market apple has, and it will be hard to beat them

The Android market place is web based because it exists in no other way. There's no local software to sync your stuff on your Windows, OSX or Linux box, so of course they made it web based. It's still a huge distance away from the integrated experience you get with iDevices.
