  • What song is that?

  • @snowconelove it's called Johnny and Dorothy Livingston, just like she says at the beginning of the clip. :-)

  • can this tune be played as a reel also

  • Candy to my ears :) Thank you for posting and a grand hello from all the way across 2 oceans. Someday I hope to come there to see Scotland and its beautiful highlands.

  • beautiful... cant wait to learn it from your vid thats if you dont mind :P

  • Finally someone who actually holds its properly lol all the people in the videos on this account hold it wrong!!!

  • Ahh yes! Often the "Fiddler's" play it low and "violinast" play it higher.

It's just how it goes haha.

Most Fiddler's who play this type of music play it low. Im not a Fiddler myself but i know anough.

Even though it technaclly may be wrong it still sounds good!

  • ohh really? i never knew that ahah i'm a violinist :)

  • They hold it right because it's fiddling. They hold it the way it feels comfortable. Fiddling is the people's violin playing. Usually fiddlers don't like it when violinists tell them that they're doing this and that wrong. And usually violinists can't play fiddling tunes right because they are sooooo uptight!

  • cool cool i never knew that but yes violinists can play fiddle tunes because when you play the violin for a while it feels comfortable so i guess it depends on your teachers or w.e

  • you're a pedantic twat. It doesn't matter how you fucking hold it. It's the sound that comes from it that counts. You twat.

  • There is no right or wrong way to make music. If you can make a beautiful sound, it does not matter how the instrument is held.

  • i hold mine wrong...... more comfortable.

  • Have a look at this fiddle playing ,see if hes holding it right " Seán McGuire In Full Flight"

  • @beziersdude you dont think hes holding it right? he was one of the best irish fiddlers there ever was.

  • @beziersdude Ha ha when he plays it like that who cares how he's holding it!!!

  • Great music, you and Natalie MacMaster should play side by side, very good music.

  • I had the pleasure of being in a class with Mairi at the 2007 Sunshine Coast Fiddle Summer Coast. I still play a wonderful slow reel I learned from her whose name I've forgotten. Strongly recommend their third CD, Greengold, available from both Foot Stompin' Celtic Music and Amazon.

  • Your tone and playing are absolutely superb, even through my teeny laptop speakers.

  • hey wow, here you are bowing almost perfectly perpendicular... you can really hear it too because your fiddle is speaking wonderfully and connectedly. well done!

  • Nice, I mean, very, very nice. Really nice tune, is it published anywhere ?

  • Campbells D: Grrrrr!

  • Great stuff. Hope to hear more from "The Cast".

  • beautiful sounding violin, beautifully played.

i really enjoy Irish and Scottish fiddlers who don't play like their clothes are on fire.

  • Fantastic, wonderful music, thanks for sharing...

  • I like your vid clip and I've rated it as awesome. Please check out my video clip of some very rare 1934 tobacco cards of old and ethnic musical instruments.

  • Play Romanian fiddle its the best in the world...good practice..

  • Clever bowing. You make it look deceptively easy, but I know that what you are doing is actually really difficult. Great music
