That part is part 35 the Alcohol pre-heating Heating cup, you can put alcohol or alcohol past in there and preheat the lantern with out useing the part 226, or you can use part 35 and then start part 226 and then it lights faster. Or if the preheater part 226 does not work then you have the cup part 35 as a back-up to the part 226.

Hello, what is the small dish with tube in at base of vaporiser for, as video shows only using of quick lighter, can other fuel be used instead of petrol? ie parafin!!! my lamp is as new not been lit, but don't have any info, Brian UK please to answer.

hiya, I have a petromax HK500 & have watched various video's how to light etc, all use the rapid tube to light, why is there a small recepticl at base of vaperizer with tube in it, can one use this to form mantel? or what for? kindly answer as have not got info leaflet with it, also is it only petrol that can be used? If not pumping very well use moisturiser on the leather pump washer and try again and use some oil as well and you should find it works a lot better.

Hi , I have a brand new anchor lantern . I have tried pumping (tank empty) but after about 150 stokes there is nothing showing on the guage although there is some pressure in the tank . Pump washer is well oiled. Any idea what im doing wrong ?

Hello, fill it up with fuel then pump it will work better also use Wd40 on the pump leather this will make it work great.

I just found a petromax 828 at the scrapyard in the bin. I cleaned it and the pre heater is working. Now I need a glass and a sock.
