I just found out that 400 hatchlings like those were killed by decapitation as part of a “research” done by James Spotila and other “scientists” related to the Leatherback Trust in the Las Baulas National Park some years ago. Atrocious! However they came to Costa Rica, they said, to protect the leatherback turtles.

I love this video; especially in light of the One National Geographic shot of crocodiles picking up baby turtles in their mouths to release them gently in the sea.
