Now I like the Open Door more than Fallen. I didn't like "Evanescence" compared to the Open Door.. now I actually do love it, It just sounds Different. Only song I STILL don't like is that "Swimming Home" shit. Ev + Slow Dub Step = Ew to me. My Heart Is Broken IS the song that made me give the Album another chance though.

@Sevrion Open Door definitely was different that Fallen but Fallen had a far better sound to me. I listened to this album a couple times and I've listened to My Heat is Broken a few times repeatedly this weekend. I guess it's the lyrics. They're quite cliche and uninteresting imo. The only thing saving this song is her voice range on the chorus. Sounds great. Their previous material was just lyrically and even instrumentally more captivating and original.

No matter how many times I listen to Evanescence, one thing always comes to mind: This band is an Americanized, commercialized version of Nightwish.

That's not saying that's a bad thing, since Nightwish is incredible, but I can't help but wonder how awesome Amy would sound with Tuomas Holopainen as songwriter and having a full orchestra at her disposal.

I figured out part of it by ear, and the fast part starts on the Eb right next to middle C, and then plays the Bb above the Eb, and then the Eb above that, and then the Bb above that. And then it repeats, except that the last Bb is now an Ab, and then it repeats the first three again, and then plays a Gb, and then repeats the first two again, and then plays F and then Eb.

It's hard to describe, but that's the first part.

Origin proved that kids/teens really can create a masterpiece

Fallen launched a beautiful career with kick ass songs that will always be remembered.

The Open Door showed that this band can take a little bit from every genre and still sound amazing.

Origin, Fallen, and the Open Door were great, but around the time of The Open Door Amy seemed a bit lost. And she's back with a new band (aside from Terry) and really sounding better then ever. I love this album to death! Long live Evanescence!
