  • how did he upload the video??? i cant get my video codec vids to process

  • Started using this. But found the .avi that was output was fairly difficult to work with.

When attempting to skip through the video it would get stuck or reset back to begining. Frustrating to work on & edit lengthy videos with this happening.

    Ideas?

  • Comment removed

  • @drazzilvx3 you need to go on the thing were he ask to install watch the whole video

  • Thank you for posting this. I was under the impression that the Kega was capable of doing this, but I just never figured out how it worked!! Thanks!

  • thanx for tutorial=)) and yeah what is that music in the beginning? name?

  • @Doter94 Intro to Ristar for the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive.

  • Thanks!

  • Epic just what I'm looking for as I want to record sole from my mega drive ^^

  • thumbs up for Ristar

  • HEY MAN THANKS! IVE ALWAYS WANTED TO DO SOME SONIC WALKTHROUGHS. NOW I CAN FINALLY RECORD BOTH SOUND AND VIDEO. THANKS AGAIN DUDE

  • @PlasmaCutter117 COOL STORY BRO.

  • It worked!

    thanks !!!!!

  • Great choice of music. Ristar had a PRIMO soundtrack.

  • Okay! I got this thing installed and I can watch the AVIs I record, so will these videos work on Sony Vegas,or do I have to just upload the AVI on youtube?

  • Thanks guy!

You helped me, so much! *-*

  • Duuuuude! I am soooo gratefull for this video. I was trying to record footage of this emulator dozen of times and I never realized, that all i had to do is install this codec. I know, stupid mistake, but it doesn's matter anymore, now I can finally record gameplay of genesis game. Thank You again very mutch, and please forgive me my english.

  • Thanks a lot, dude. This really helped.

  • i will Convert the Video but all Converters said this AVI file is wrong Format (KEGA Codec) and can not convert to other codecs and youtube not supporting KEGA Codec :(

  • oh, i changed the Media Player and it works now. Media Player Classic is shit to play

  • and the Video plays very slow and the sound is to fast by Master System

  • i have tested yet and my video is not synchron :( whats wrong?

  • NEED THE SONG(S) NAME(S)!!! BTW Thanks for the tutorial helped alot!

  • How do you add the red text at the bottom of the screen and what program do you use?

  • thanks but not to see the video

is the AVI codec is soo bored

  • Thanks

  • tanks for video YES

  • thanks , very useful

  • Everything you said in this video works fine, up to the point where i have to upload. Everytime i try to upload the video youtube uploads it afterwards it says video failed.

  • @Oblivion709

My guess is you need to convert it to another codec since it's using fusions codec, which you can only play because you installed the custom codec. Youtube wouldn't know how to view it unless it supported that codec. So convert it to a format youtube can use.

  • Thanks! Before hand, it would only play the music, but now it shows the video aswell!

  • It works, but while I play my FPS is really low, but when I watch it's fine.

  • i did everything u did.. and it worked i can record and stop record, but when i play the video back i only get sound no video...anybody know why?

  • god knows why... i actually haven't used this emulator for a long time...

  • @RockmanKenny

lol its ok i figured it out i use xfire

  • @RockmanKenny dude can u give me all the music u have on this video i luv it :D

  • @RockmanKenny If you dont know what I mean its in my vid (dont worry I dont expect you to watch the whole thing but what im talking about becomes apparent right at the start)

  • @drazzilbx3

In the Video Codec folder, right-click KegaGameVideo, then Install. That's what worked for me.

  • @drazzilbx3 Install DivX

  • @drazzilbx3 You probably need to update your codecs. I use DIVX for .avi recording and playback.

  • This tutorial actually works. All the other tutorials on the gens emulator doesnt work. So I tried Kega and it actually works. Thanks man ur the best. Also I favored this vid too

  • Great tutorial, great music. You 're AWESOME.

  • How come my failed?

  • Thanks for the help buddy... I had some footage of wonder-boy I wanted on YouTube and it wasn't working till I tried this.

  • I tried to install the video codec KegaGameVideo, but the installation always fails before it even begins. Why?

  • I don't know, sorry...

  • @LightStreak567 Same here :(

  • @LightStreak567 Install DivX

  • thank you so very very very much I ve been searching for hours on the internet and couldnt find shit this works like charm thank you so much! :)

  • do i have to install the movie file each time or just once?

  • Just once.

  • @RockmanKenny Can I ever uninstall the softwere.

  • @RockmanKenny I recorded something on Sonic 2, and theres this blue screen and the bottom, is there a way to fix this ?

  • Thanks. You helped a lot.

  • The video is just fine however..I can't convert it with either Youtube Downloader or Any Video Converter.

  • Thanks for this...I was trying Gens with Fraps but that lagged...This works perfectly!!!

  • Awesome xD

  • Yes I could not get the file to play but it works now

    5 stars

  • Once again, awesome XD

  • when i try to upload a video from kega fusion

it keeps saying its the wrong format

isnt there some way that i can be able to play these videos on youtube

  • Try converting it to another format.

  • what did u use

  • Well what I basically done is I put the Kega Fusion videos on Sony Vegas, then render them to WMV. Then I can upload them to YouTube just fine.

  • I got this to work by importing the video into CyberLink PowerDirector 8 then upload straght to youtube.

  • Cool. What is CyberLink PowerDirector 8 like? Is it a video editing program like Sony Vegas?

  • Yes its quite good.

You can pay for this or download from a torrent site.

  • Oh I see XD

  • yeah!

  • yeah. Like with S3&K

  • I think that problem is tolerable though. It's something I can deal with because it'll turn out good after recording.

  • I am using 64 bit. However, the gameplays kinda is out of wack, but when your done recording it, the video looks flawless.

  • Yeah, I think I had that problem when I was recording Sonic the Hedgehog in Labyrinth Zone. It looked like it was all underwater, but after recording it, it looks great.

  • thanks man this help a lot

  • I tried this but when I played the AVI file all I saw was a black screen.I need help.

  • Maybe it depends on what kind of computer you have now?

  • I have Windows XP.

  • I had Windows Vista when I was recording with Kega Fusion. So maybe it works better on that version.

  • No problem ^_^

  • every time i try to upload a recorded vid onto yt. it says failed to convert video file...

  • Are you trying to upload it right after you recorded it?

  • yeah

  • YouTube doesn't accept AVI videos being uploaded anymore. You can put it on a video editing program like Windows Movie Maker or Sony Vegas, or you can convert it to a different format. I upload videos that are in the WMV format.

  • oh come on now.. yt is just being bull

  • Yeah it's a pain...

  • thank you. i like the kega fusion emulator a lot and i couldn't make movies before. this is awesome

  • No problem xD

  • iT WORLS PERFECTLY FOR WINDOWS 7 FOR ME! THANKS DUDE. i subbed and everything.

  • Thanks XD

  • Are you using 64bit version of Windows 7? Just curious as I have odd stutters thorughout recording.

  • I recorded a playthrough last night but when I was playing, I kept getting some lag like every 10 seconds or something. Is this normal?

  • Also I open it in Sony Vegas Pro v9.0 and I don't get any video at all. It's just a black screen. I can open it up in Media Player Classic and Windows Media Player but if I skip ahead in the video, I get sound but the video doesn't catch up.

  • I never got lag while I was recording. Do you still get no video even after you right clicked KegaGameVideo?

  • Yep. At least I know that it shouldn't be lagging. I'm running Windows 7 x64. Could be that. Maybe the emulator hasn't got full support on 64 bit. What operating system do you use?

  • Yeah it could be that you're using Windows 7 64-Bit. I used to use Windows Vista while making my Kega Fusion videos, and it worked great there.

  • Thanks for the video Kenny. I want to start uploading Megadrive game playthroughs for anyone to watch (Mainly Beat Em Ups). So thanks for making such a clear tutorial.

  • No problem, and have fun making your Mega Drive playthroughs :D

  • Yep,super superior!

  • I tried to make a let's play and upload it, but whenever I try to upload or convert the file, there's only audio, and I don't know why. A little help please...

    (I'm using Windows Vista)

  • Aww that sucks. Do you have Sony Vegas? That will help.

  • No, but I can get it... eventually. Thanks for the advice.

  • No problem.

  • thx a lot, now i won't have the lag i had using hypercam2 :)

  • Awesome xD

  • ii recoreded and when i play it back(Windows Media Player 7) the sounds is earlier than the video... :(

  • Maybe you should try a later version of Windows Media Player.

  • thx. i didnt install the codec so i was wondering why it just recorded the sound. way better then camstudio

  • Indeed :D

  • hey i need abit of a heads up, ive downloaded Fusion 3.6 from the main website in a "zip." file, when i open it, dosent contain the same files as yours and doesnt have a video codec installer. Can you please send me a link from which you downloaded it please.

    Would be much appreciated.

  • I downloaded my Kega Fusion 3.6 on Emulator Zone.

  • Dude, you're a lifesaver. I'm so subbing!

  • Thanks XD

  • Wow didnt know you did this. Thanks man

  • No prob ^.^

  • i tried quickplayer but same thing again

  • That's too bad :( Are you using Windows XP? I think Kega Fusion's AVI recorder works best on Windows Vista.

  • windows media player says the same thing :(

    what shall i do?

  • That sucks :( Are Real Player and Windows Media Player the only two video players you have now? Or do you have more media players?

  • I mean do you have more video players. Apologies for the typo. :P

  • oh

    thanks

  • No problem.

  • yes, and it wont play!

then it says realplayer has stopped working!

is there anything you can do to help?

  • You were using Real Player to play that video? I'd say try playing the video in another video player, like Windows Media Player if you have a version of Windows.

  • i did what you told me, but the video dosent work,

    please help!

  • Aww, that's too bad :( Is the video all black when you play it?

  • Thanks for the tutorial. It's so helpful.

  • No problem!

  • Kega Fusion is the best Genesis emulator there is. The ONLY thing I do not like about it is that there is no autofire. Gens and all the other Genesis emulators have autofire. I can not understand why Fusion does not have it.

  • Yep, it's also my favorite emulator :P even the AVI recorder is near-perfect!

  • BTW, I have windows XP and I did not even have to install the .inf file. The AVI file it records will only play with media player, not VLC. It comes out very nicely, though. Let's just hope they add autofire to Fusion soon. I LOATHE having to play games by mashing the buttons.

  • All my Fusion videos play in Windows Media Player too, and yeah the framerate is excellent and everything :D

  • make a video about how to play online with fusion. thanks

  • I never played online with Fusion, so... sorry pal D:

  • Says that windows dosen't recognize it's logo thingamajig....I have windows xp, so do i continue or not?

  • I have Windows Vista, so I guess it works better for me. Try continuing and tell me what you got.

  • Well, i'm really looking forward to that...it says the computer might crash. It looks pretty damn serious.

  • That sucks... if you don't want your computer to crash, then don't continue. You can either get another computer with Windows Vista, or upgrade to that version.

  • I'm gonna guess it won't work on XP if I click the button that says continue anyway

  • Can anyone help me with how, (if any way) i can record my voice over this?

  • Well you can record your voice on your video when you put it on Windows Movie Maker or Sony Vegas.

  • Can you help me with this? I got done recording a video but the AVI format is KGV1. How do I change the video format with it? My video converter does not read KGV1 format when I want to convert.

  • That's odd... I right clicked my Kega Fusion videos and clicked Properties and it said it's avi.

  • Okay well I will just have to use the boring windows movie maker to edit and convert the videos. Thanks for the reply.

  • I have Windows Vista and when I record the AVI file I can hear sound but not the video!!!

  • Ever tried right clicking KegaGameVideo and clicked install?

  • Yeah!

  • THANK YOU!!!!

  • You're welcome. :)

  • Ristar music, awesome

  • Ive been using kega for some videos and its a hassle to re-compress the video to native avi because nothing accepts kegas codec except Xvid codec. It takes to long to compress and my videos usually end up much bigger than kegas file.... but gens+ slows down while recording on my favorite codec and my rig is good its a dual @ 3.1...

  • Thanks for this tutorial! It was rather useful!

  • Will this record sound too? Or do I still have to activate WAV log?

  • Yes it will.

  • Sweet!

  • well i tryed to upload a vid and it sez it has failed to convert WTF!? is up with this thing

  • Maybe YouTube does not allow avi videos anymore, but you can convert the avi video to wmv. I think you can also put it on Windows Movie Maker after you've converted it.

Jeez I get lots of comments in that video saying things like that XD

  • WMM gives me an error and if i will convert it it is too small double screen and purple WTH?

  • yes it does every video I upload is an Avi

  • thxs man

  • Is it dangerous to install the Kega Video Codec. Becuase I don't have Windows Vista. And why the HELL that Steve Snake make this AVI codec installation funny.

  • What do you mean by Steve Snake making the avi codec installation funny?

  • It meant that not all codecs are loaded like other emulators. I have Xvid and I can't find a way to install it without damaging my computer if I did install the Kega Codec into my Windows XP system.

  • Oh that sucks :(

  • Nice tutorial. I've must've got the outdated version of Kega.

  • Thanks and I bet lol.

  • I'm also getting the windows logo problem thing, any other ways to do to make it work than installing this ?

  • I'm not sure sorry, it might be your version of Windows is old. I use Windows Vista Home Edition and I had no problems installing KegaGameVideo.

  • i have a problem

anytime i install the kegagamevideo thing

its says "this installation has not passed the windows logo we recommend you to stop the installation" can you help?

  • How old is your version of Windows? That might be the problem.
