Jim, I showed this video to my family. Everyone said, "business as usual." The NY Times is calling Dolan's election a step towards conservativism. I disagree. He's a cowardly liberal who hides under the mantle of church teaching when his job is on the line, but shows his true colors in private. Just think, Dolan is the lead investigator of the Ireland pedophile crimes. What are the chances any of those gay priests will actually be removed from ministry and not transferred to another parish?
@CreedChrist Good for you. I wrote the Vatican as well. Things in NY need to be cleaned up. Abp. Dolan has not said anything about this. Big shock. People sweep this scandal under the rug and the heresy/blasphemy continues without a problem.
I noticed last week that the video was taken down from the St. Francis Xavier website. That lasted all of a couple of days. Now the video link is back up (on their homepage) and the screen shot shown is that of Archbishop Dolan looking on intently as the active LGBTs present themselves. Talk about sending a message!
Also, I notice that you can only go to confession there with an appointment during the summer months. Great. Although, God only knows what is considered a sin there.
Michael, I support what you do, since way back in the One True Faith days. I have, and will continue to send people this way, offer my support and prayers. You're doing a great job, you have a solid grasp of the faith, and I believe you are making a difference. We all want to exorcise evil from the Church, no matter where that leads us. Keep up the good work. Peace be with your spirit.
I was one of the ones suspended from Cathoic Answers Forum for posting links to your Vortex episodes. As CatholicCrusade mentioned, it was because they do not consider you a credible news source. All this has really made me question the authenticity of that Forum. I cannot imagine any forum interested in promoting authentic Catholicism not supporting RealCatholicTV. Keep up the tremendous work, realcatholictv! You're picking up where Mother Angelica left off.
@ Real Catholic TV I searched in vain for my original comment and see it failed to post. I've read a lot of speculations in these comments about what "type" of group was introduced to the Archbp at Mass (whether legit or heretical), but does anyone KNOW this for sure? Has anyone done research into the LGBT ministry to substantiate the claim that it is doing ministerial work for or against the Church? Rather than "guilty by association", has anyone studied this group in detail?
@StGregoryQuartet It is impossible to study the group - as no-one returns any calls. However, it is also unnecessary; the group wants to march in a LGBT parade. Those parades are NOT places where a group faithful to the Church's teaching can march without causing (at the very least) scandal. They upheld the letter of the bishop's directive, but not the intended spirit.
This is not guilt by association - this is guilt by the WORDS coming out of these people's mouths!
@CatholicCrusade Is that really the case? Wow - kind of makes you proud, doesn't it?
If we are not a news source (when every single one of our stories is researched and we have NEVER been called on a single point of factual inaccuracy) I wonder what is?
Do they really just ban people for mentioning us? That seems . . . odd.
@RealCatholicTV Well it seems to be in the News Section, apologies for that.
But then the site is sometimes called Protestant Answers for a reason. I knew two Catholics that once the forums where done with them up and became Pagans due to there apologetics.
Have you ever heard it said by Liberals or Pagans that Catholicism was founded to maintain a status quo keeping the rich, rick and the poor, poor?
@CatholicCrusade I would not know what goes on on Catholic Answers, and wouldn't like to encourage discussion about them on these comments; CA doesn't have a chance to formally defend itself against any charges. It is certainly the case there are a LOT of people there, and it might be the users (rather than CA themselves) who are weakening any Catholic identity (if there is, indeed, any weakening going on - and I do not say there is).
@CatholicCrusade I don't mind any kind of discussion - I'd just want it to be relevant and also, if it is going to be about another group, to allow them the chance to defend themselves. CA do provide a good service. If they really don't like us, well. . . . their loss.
I should put forward Avery Cardinal Dulles, Hans Urs von Balthasar (nearly a Cardinal himself) and James Schall as other jesuits I look up to and who'd find this parish something strange and contrary to an authentically Catholic pastoral ministry to people with SSA.
@PikSokolit Instead of no longer attending St. Patrick's you should bring this to the attention of the Laity there and put pressure on His Excellancy. There is a great need for people to be like St. Cathrine of Sienna.
PLEASE correct me if I am wrong, but isn't it permissible to "be" gay while not "acting" gay? Meaning, it is okay to have tendencies and attraction towards the same gender, but it is not okay to act on those tendencies/desires/attractions? Along with that, do we know the intention of those ministries? Like, offering True help (read morally correct) and pointing them to therapy associations like NARTH?
@nickt31 Same sex attraction is not a sin. Homosexual actions are.
The fact the AoNY has said NOTHING about the nature of these ministries (and the reputation of St. Francis Xavier parish, and the fact they wanted to march in the LGBT parade) points to these ministries NOT being something along the lines of Courage ministries.
@RealCatholicTV I can understand that. Silence in these situations usually isn't a good thing. I guess I would just "like to think" an archbishop has a greater focus in mind. It's true that every sinner is welcomed to attend Mass (receiving or not) so hopefully this parish may be used as a "platform" for proper formation of LGBT ministries; and HOPEFULLY that's what the archbishop is trying to do; handling these situations is rarely simple.
I saw Archbishop Dolan on Sunday Night Live w/ Fr. Groeschel a few times. I am so sickened by this. Has anyone or will anyone inform Fr. G. about this? How that will no doubt break his heart, too. Lord have mercy! JMJ I love you, save souls!
O... M... GOSH.... Michael, I've heard all your reports about the decline of the Catholic Church in the US. I could understand only vaguely, coz I do believe that there is such an evil in existence. But It's been hard to grasp the true reality until seeing this damning evidence NOW. I'm SO shocked. So appalled. What are we waiting for? It's time to SHUT this DOWN. 'Archbishop'?! How does one as evil as him get to such a rank in the first place?! Wow, I understand why PB16 is gearing up now.
Mother Mary warned us about what is happening. Many priests and bishops and cardinals are going to hell and taking many others with them. We need to set up a new Inquisition!!!
I call for the woodshed! Spare the rod, spoil the bishop( and most of those under his care)! In love, of course....wherefrom are all proper woodshed experiences stem.
It appeares that His Excellency's smile is actually a grimace. It seems that he was hoping that the LGBT group was presenting itself in the context of rehabilitating these people for the purpose "bringing them to the Sacraments"--- which would entail their repentance / turning away their lifestyle --- prior to receiving Holy Communion. However, this political correctness is a bad way to represent Church doctrine as it confuses issues.
Michael - Is there any way you could send this video to the Vatican? There has to be a way to report these abuses to the higher authorities. That being said, I hope we can all remember to pray for our homosexual brothers and sisters. It would not be an easy way to have to live, and I hope our parishes are helping them as compassionately as possible to find ways to live in peace and participate fully in the Catholic faith. It's excruciating for some of them. They need our prayers too.
I couldn't stomach watching the entire St. Francis Parish Video, but the little I did see revealed: 1 - A woman in the pew wearing a very low hanging top off her left shoulder (1:44, not right) 2 - That silly barefoot woman dancing with the incense before the Sacred Altar (1:30, bad sign) 3 - Too many men interviewed in the vid with discernible effeminate traits (both with and without a Roman collar) 4 - A quick Facebook check of one of those men revealed FB friends with gay/liberal ties. Yup...
To the guy who expressed surprise that this came from a jesuit parish, are you kidding? The jesuits are & have been heretics for a long time. It's not hard to find articles on the net about dissident jesuits. I used to compile them but I stopped because of the shear volume. A drop in jesuit vocations is a GOOD thing. Any young man seriously considering that diseased order would end up being the kind of priest we don't need any more of, like the pastor of this parish who leads souls to hell.
@1ndabag I too feel hurt and suspicious about the SJ but we should remind ourselves that people like John Hardon, Mitch Pacwa and Joseph Fessio are modern day jesuits along with all the confusion.
They're a good example of how the amount of education you have isn't enough, but the contents of what you actually learn, promote and defend.
Recent history has Pedro Arrupe, superior from 65-83. You should learn about him. The focus on social justice and the origins of liberation theology are his.
@1ndabag I know some very good and faithful and orthodox Jesuit priests in India. They work hard and are completely dedicated to the faith. I wouldn't paint them all with the same brush. I think these issues are largely a disease that infests the Western Churches. In third world countries, none of this seems to be the case, or at least it is extremely rare...
Contacted the Archidiocese. After being transferred through 3 different departments, I was finally able to ask the question, "Does Archbishop Dolan support the homosexual lifestyle." She (the office of communications) couldn't answer that question. She had to take down my phone number and have someone get back to me.
I agree with you Michael but are our Bishops being cowardly just because they are afraid of losing tax exemption or more parishioners? Or could some of the good ones be afraid to excommunicate and force compliance from defiant Catholics and Catholic parishes because they know it will bring more persecution upon all faithful Christians? Very few Catholic priests besides the occasional Fr. Corapi are even warning people that there is a price for being a believer in Christ.
Michael, I reviewed the video and article you included.
I sent an email asking them for an explanation of their acceptance of gay groups and their return to the sacraments. I reminded them that the sacrament if reconciliation is required to receive the Eucharist.
I said that Catholics and the church deserve an explanation.
It seems the Archbishop looked on with deep concern until the speaker said "return to the Sacraments"--then he cheered. If the speaker meant that in the fullness of Catholic faith, that would imply repentance and a return to Confession.
But actions speak louder than words, and we now know where the parish "LGBT" groups stand. I pray Archbishop Dolan follows up with this matter. Don't know why Zwilling denied this happened.
@ConsecrateRussia His Excellency DID NOT give the homily wearing a cheesehead hat. He put it on MOMENTARILY and then took it off -- nothing more. I'd provide a link to the pertinent info, but YouTube doesn't seem to allow links in comments.
@GAredneck132 And ConsecrateRussia did not say he did; he called it the infamous CHEESEHEAD HOMILY. Which it clearly is; you recognized the reference immediately.
Wearing a cheesehead during a homily = CHEESEHEAD HOMILY
(I feel the capitals should always be used; it just looks better)
I wouldn't expect such things from a Jesuit run parish. -.-
Let us pray that this situation doesn't cause a decrease in Jesuit vocations..
And yea...Michael...there's no sidebar(it's now ''below''bar..i know how much you love the tradition but the second San Bruno(Youtube HQ) council resoluted that there will be no more sidebar. New times ahead. XD
It's entirely possible the archbishop, when presented with the gay groups, couldn't make a judgment on the spot as to the background of the groups. They were presented as groups "returning to the sacraments." Well, bravo.
One of the priests seems homosexual. Imagine the LGBT men being accepted into seminaries and later ordained. They would turn parishes into LGBT action centers. And the liberal hijacking of the Church would progress to another level. It's useless for the church to think in centuries when its enemies think in months or less.
@allannus The LBGT men have already been accepted into seminaries and been ordained. In mass numbers over the last several decades. Some estimates state that more than 60 - 70 % of all priests in the US are gay men.
If these people truly CARED about LGBTs, they would ENCOURAGE them to go to the catholic apostolate "COURAGE", a non-judgemental place where LGBTs will be able to live a chaste lifestyle and walk in the path of purity. Their acceptance towards the homosexual lifestyle is not only uncharitable but also anti-catholic, as they turn their backs on the catholic teachings on homosexuality and defy the authority of the Pope.
I offer this horrible sadness and heavy heart that I am experiencing in reparation for the sins committed against the Immaculate Heart of Mary and the Sacred Heart of Jesus And for the suffering souls in Purgatory And for theconversion of sinners(including myself and the Archbishop)....
What did the archbishop know, maybe many bishops are willfully ignorant. That is another issue. He shows two seemingly contradictory behaviors here. He asks them to not display the name of the parish in this depraved parade (& I've seen what happens @ "gay pride parades," yeach!), he is seen cheering here. What did he understand to be meant by "gays returning to the sacraments?" We should return to the sacraments in penance, I too would cheer for gays doing THAT.
@VictorLepanto It doesn't seem contradictory to me. It tells ME HE KNOWS EXACTLY what they are doing BECAUSE he asked them NOT to carry the banner,so as not to draw attention and get them in trouble. He did NOT ask them to stop these programs.---Sounds as if another enemy inside the CHurch has been uncovered! He should be removed and he better NEVER make Cardinal!!!
This is what Dietrich Von Hildebrand referred to as the "fifth column" of the church in his book - "The Devastated Vineyard" - a must read for all Catholics concerned about the church since the close of the council.
@Serikiyo Why would we need to be on EWTN? We have a broader reach being on the internet. Also, we are independent of any network telling us what to do.
@RealCatholicTV It was me that made the EWTN comment. I just think that the work you do is so valuable, it deserves a much wider audience. However, because you proclaim the truth as it is in boldness, EWTN would be unlikely to give you airtime anyway. I think you might produce flyers or posters which could be used to promote the channel in parishes. PDF formats could be made available for those outside America. I am watching from Ireland!
@dialyt55 Fr. Corapi at EWTN does an excellent job combating dissent in the Church, but RCTV delves into the specifics (who did what, why, how, etc.). Maybe the people behind EWTN don't like that approach (exposing dissenting bishops and others). They should remember that Jesus didn't send out his apostles as diplomats or PR specialists. The full truth must be said, not only what certain people can handle.
@RealCatholicTV It's just that we would all love to be able to watch the One True Faith on TV too. It was yanked from my diocese's local Catholic Station. We would all love to see you on EWTN, but if that is not right way to go for Real Catholic TV, then we respect your opinion.
@RealCatholicTV Well, that's their loss! Keep up all the great work, and perhaps that will change someday soon. We just want all our Catholic friends to be able to find you!
@RealCatholicTV Ever since Raymond Arroya gave a softball interview to Cardinal McCarrick I stopped giving to EWTN. EWTN has become a political correct station since Mother Angelica is not that the head of it. Cardinal McCarrick is not a good Cardinal and the quesitons Arroya could have asked him was not because of them working with the USCCB and their liberal leadership. EWTN doesn't want to hear the truth broadcasted. joneeib
There is every need for Catholics to reach out to homosexuals just as there is a need to reach out to atheists or others that haven't accepted Christ as their savior and to follow the word of God. That does not mean a recognition of the homosexual lifestyle as one compatible with the Faith. However, I am not surprised that Jesuits are involved. There were many radical and or homosexual Jesuits in the Catholic college that I attended. Of course, at that time they were very discreet.
I am extremely disappointed at Archbishop Dolan

I watched the parish's video.
Was that 'happy-clappy' service really a Mass? No focus on our Lord in the Tabernacle. A very 'horizontal' service rather than a 'vertical' Mass.

Anybody got the address for the CDF?

This is absolutely despicable. It's like a slap to our Lord, Jesus' face.

My questions:
What did the archbishop know, maybe many bishops are willfully ignorant. That is another issue. He shows two seemingly contradictory behaviors here. He asks them to not display the name of the parish in this depraved parade (& I've seen what happens @ "gay pride parades," yeach!), he is seen cheering here. What did he understand to be meant by "gays returning to the sacraments?" We should return to the sacraments in penance, I too would cheer for gays doing THAT.
VictorLepanto 1 year ago
@VictorLepanto It doesn't seem contradictory to me. It tells ME HE KNOWS EXACTLY what they are doing BECAUSE he asked them NOT to carry the banner,so as not to draw attention and get them in trouble. He did NOT ask them to stop these programs.---Sounds as if another enemy inside the CHurch has been uncovered! He should be removed and he better NEVER make Cardinal!!!
Hersy, I say! Heresy!

This is what Dietrich Von Hildebrand referred to as the "fifth column" of the church in his book - "The Devastated Vineyard" - a must read for all Catholics concerned about the church since the close of the council.

@dialyt55
My goodness, that would be FANTASTIC!!! I would love to watch a full show by these folks on ETWN! :D

@Serikiyo Why would we need to be on EWTN? We have a broader reach being on the internet. Also, we are independent of any network telling us what to do.
RealCatholicTV 1 year ago 8

@jmjsanfran EWTN has already said they don't want us . . . . :)
RealCatholicTV 1 year ago
@RealCatholicTV Well, that's their loss! Keep up all the great work, and perhaps that will change someday soon. We just want all our Catholic friends to be able to find you!

@RealCatholicTV Ever since Raymond Arroya gave a softball interview to Cardinal McCarrick I stopped giving to EWTN. EWTN has become a political correct station since Mother Angelica is not that the head of it. Cardinal McCarrick is not a good Cardinal and the quesitons Arroya could have asked him was not because of them working with the USCCB and their liberal leadership. EWTN doesn't want to hear the truth broadcasted. joneeib

@RealCatholicTV Can I ask why? I've posted clips of the Vortex on CA forums and I get a mixed of people who don't really like Michael or RCTV
