Hey 9thWJ, you wouldn't happen to know who plays guitar on this and other Cousin Joe songs like "Tore Down"? I'm really diggin' the playin'. I've been on a Cousin Joe kick lately. Thanks.
@swuzzups In the session that included "Tore Down", both Clarence "Gatemouth" Brown and Jimmy Dawkins were used on guitar. I think on Tore Down it was Jimmy Dawkins. I wanna say this one is Clarence but it's just a guess on my part. By the way, "Tore Down" was specifically written to show off the guitar. It was written by Mickey Baker.
@9thWardJukebox Thanks for the info, you're the best. Sounds like they both may be playing on "Tore Down". I would think Fast Fingers is on both songs. The wah wah stuff is a little more modern than Gate usually sounds, but you never know with Gate. I didn't know that "Tore Down" was a Mickey Baker composition. I always thought it was a Freddie King original. Thanks again.
@YEFJJ If I was in Cleveland, I'd be sick. I'm just glad he stayed in the East, we in the dreaded West. No need to make it "worser". Bet Boston has to be a bit concerned about these little maneuvers.
