Unlucky. I was a submariner "a wussam" thats WSM weapos submarine and was based at faslane. The money is not grand a month, i was paid 1200 amonth before tax. the 5000 hello bonus is taxed so u don't end up with much. Let me guess ur cp4 so they told u subs was the only thing on offer. U do get holiday pay like any other regulaur job not gonna dis that. You would only do both if you went in the RN as a rating and after many years and rising up the non-com ranks you may be offered a Commission, then you would do 7 weeks at Dartmouth. Otherwise no you wouldn't do both, why go to Raleigh if you're going to train as an Officer?

hey pal yeh the interview is easy enough as long as you do your homework on the job your applying for and learn about what you will be doing at h.m.s raliegh,those were the two key questions i was asked at the interview all the other stuff is easy about your hobies and interests and any other personal achievements you have.

Good luck m8 and mind and wear a suit and tie aswell.

P.S i found the aptitude test a piece of piss mate but again it depends what you are applying for.

aw thts kool m8 I'm going in to be a Stores Accountant and yep it will be extremely hectic in the navy i still have three and a half months until i leave for raliegh but im just back from the RNAC a.k.a Royal Naval Acquaint Course it's a four day course where you do most of the things you will be doing at Raliegh like call the hands,OIC Rounds and Drill i.e marching you also get alot of physical stuff like 1.5 mile run,swimming test and circuits lol if your offered to go in it i wud reccomend it
