IOMG!! I just love this recipe and think I could literally eat this salad everyday! It is so amazingly good. I can't even imagine adding anything to it but since you asked for some ideas, the only thing I could come up with would be scallions or maybe an apple...but even that might detract from this amazing salad. Thanks for the great recipe.
This video was not our first introduction but one of our first to kale salad and my 7 year old wanted to revisit this video today out of the blue. Nutritional yeast and powdered garlic are mine and her favorite things to add to kale!! Then we also discovered curry powder and more recently chipolte pepper powder. Yummmmm! We sometimes use the avocado and sometimes just olive oil. We love the kale. My daughter wants to make some right now, hehe.
this looks great! Can't wait to try it. I love kale & avocado & never thought to NOT cook kale. I'm considering a raw diet for myself & my two daughters & this is a great way to get us started! Thank you for this recipe!
add toasted pine nuts, manderian oranges,(or mango/pineapple) and toasted coconut, dizzle alittle seaseme oil or seeds/// Teen sons LOVED IT hasd to make more for seconds..
maybe some shit mcshit on top of that fucking horrible excuse of a salad made by a con artist i'm portugese and i live on the central coast of california and all i saw was you fucktards wasting kale and ruining precious avocados avocados take 18 months to grow and mushed them in that salad like the pilsbury dough boy does cookie dough i aint got a good word for you except that maybe hanging yourself would be doing the entire world a favor
I just ate this salad last night for dinner. It was fabulous! I never had kale before. A friend of mine who has eaten raw before recommended it. This is like guacamole on your salad, yum!!! I used the regular kale, since I didn't know any better, but it was just great! I added red onion and pine nuts. I skipped the raisins, I'm not a fan. This is a keeper!
i do a similar salad... what i usually add (to make it even better) is herbs to the avacado. instead of scooping out the avacado direclty onto the leaves and massaging, what i do is put the avacado in a separate bowl first, mix it up, sort of making a guacamole out of it, mixing in herbs (fresh basil, rosemary, fresh garlic, onion, anything you fancy) and then scooping out the more creamy mixture onto leaves... massage... voila!
I think if you added a red and yellow bell pepper you would really have some major flavor going on! A yellow bell pepper contains more vitamin c than any other common fruit or vegetable at 341 milligrams! It is definately a super vitamin c food! Nice salad recipe!
Making this for mine son's birthday party tomorrow, it has two of his favorite things, Kale and Avocado!

Kale and Avocado are the best! If I was going to add something to the salad I might throw in some soaked de-shelled almonds! Thanks for posting!

mmm...funny recently I've been thinking about how to prepare kale raw w/o dehydrating or blending =D
Can't wait to try this. I think I would add pumpkin seeds, a fresh assortment of berries, and maybe even a little crushed garlic ;)

I love your recipe but raisins are they not full of sugar? Lyme thrives on sugar and this is bad for us.

Lyme disease is serious business. You need to take antibiotics under the care of a doctor.
Even if you feel better today -- painful, irreversible, even life-threatening symptoms may reemerge months or years later.
