  • great with some extra info, thanks for that. 5 star

  • so a yokozuna doesn't lose his status even if he loses? thanks for the video!

  • @happistar07 Unfortunately for the yokozuna wrestlers, when they start sucking, they cannot get demoted. They are forced to retire. Mostly, this happens on the Yoko's own accord.

  • nice vid - thanks for pointing it out.

Kaio is very hit or miss, but you can never count him out or underestimate the wily veteran.

  • yeah I've seen him win and lose equally but this will be the match I mainly remember him for because it upset Asashoryu's reign as sole yokozuna. I want to see 3 or 4 of them in a tournament but that's not very likely with these two.

  • hoku is yokozuna

  • Kotooshu! MAybe? I dont like asashoryu but hakuho is nice

  • Mongolian's kicked Japan's ass 1000 years ago.There here again.Go Asashoyu

  • uh, no they didn't. They tried twice to invade Japan and failed both times.

  • well ye thats true... some of their ships did not make it to the shore... thats what i heard... anyways samurais were strong too.

  • Hi Dave :)

Just watched your taste of Japan playlist.

Thanks a bunch for uploading them, Japan is one of the places i'd most like to visit so watching them was a real treat for me.

    Loved every video.

    Peace & Love

    Pete

  • This is pretty interesting, I'd like to see this when I'm out there. How much does it cost?

  • tickets go from about $20 up to $100. I generally get the $35 ticket as the $20 ones go fast.

Tournaments take place in Tokyo in Jan, May, and September. In Osaka in March, in Nagoya in July, and Fukuoka in November but there are demos all the time in different places.

  • Ok thanks!

  • love it!

  • simpy mahvelous my deah

  • dave, you look smashing

  • hey! Is that a crack about my weight? I'm drinking Olong tea you know to slim down - should stop washing the tea down with cheese burgers though.

  • Yeah now both Yokozunas are mongolians.

  • awesome

Yokozuna Asashoryu goes 15-0, cushions fly

  • Didn't say they throw them at ever exceptional match. Was just correcting you because you said they ONLY throw them when a non-yokozuna beats a yokozuna and thats not true.

  • Well, that's the info I got from several sources on sumo. My own personal experience both on TV and live, I've only seen cushions thrown when that has occurred.

  • The throwing of cushions is to express appreciation for an exceptional match, not just because a non-yokozuna defeats a reigning yokozuna.

  • They don't throw cushions at every exceptional match. This match was particularly significant because Asashoyru's lost ensured Hakuho's chance of becoming a yokozuna.

  • Wow. Great day to be at a sumo match!
