  • Perhaps more should see this video, and may be the Salvation Army would get back to basics and its foundation of standing up for what is right and condeming what is wrong. Bringing release for the captives of this world.

  • Have a look at this epic sermon from Eric Ludy, I think it provides an amazing insight into the hard core preaching of men like Booth and other preachers of renown. This sermon is called the man under the stage and its about the dedicated and hardly known of, men and women who would pray for weeks, day and night often unto exhaustion and pain, traveling with preachers battling forces of darkness praying the holy spirit to move on the crowd hearing the gospel being preached; watch?v=5UoAZWluLWA

  • Booth would weap at see the contemporary Salvation Army. It is so very very far away from His principles, purposes and plans. It has become materialistic and complacent. It has especially forgetten his injunction to "go for souls and go for the worst."

  • @tampms10 Sadly, I am inclined to agree with you.

  • Hey it's easy to critc the Salvation Army,Let's Rebuild the Salvation Army's Reputation, maybe you guys are the next choosen to lift up the Salvation Army:)

  • Great video thanks!

  • A great man of God, but the Salvation Army is no longer concerned with true salvation, the salvation of people's souls.

  • Unfortunately, from my experience, i'm afraid I have to agree with you. They need to return to the principles laid down by their founder, in my opinion.

  • @edwardpf123 As a salvationist myself I would have to disagree with that, having just spent an evening taking part in an open air on a cold and wet night in the hopes of ministering salvation to the unsaved. The Salvation Army has changed yes, it does so much more then preach but even at its very founding the army isnt just about saving souls, its about becoming practical tools of God. Gos Bless.

  • @roboman1984 Of course I am speaking generally, but whilst the SA is not just about saving souls, you must admit most Salvationists are largely ignorant of Booth's original "Doctrines of the Salvation Army" and almost certainly do not follow his instructions in the section "Getting men saved," (see my website)

  • @cgvtv hmmm I dont agree with "most salvationists" but then again perhaps im lucky, I think that as a religion christianity in this country is embaressed to be heard.

  • @roboman1984 I agree with you in a sense, but in another, I would be very careful about who I call a christian. Until god tells me I'm saved, I wont call myself christian. But so many Americans are those who cry lord lord, but Jesus never knew them. Here's a link to part 2 of a really nice video tract from chris white, 1:15 through the video is the part i want to turn your attention to. Those who offend god by their behaviour are not in the church. Also check out the YT channel this tract is on.

  • I like these short clips but the music is awful.

  • "O God of Burning Cleansing Flame" was written by Booth. This contemporary rendition may not be to everybodies liking, but the words are full of sound doctrine.
