I'm an a deep admirer and champion of the film (I'm surely not alone in feeling that it's at least among the most impressive films of the last 20 years) and I thought that you executed a clever concept hilariously. I don't quite understand the criticism here; as I can't imagine a fan of the film seriously being indignant about your editing, I imagine that those condemning this are just users who are too obtuse to appreciate this or the movie itself.

This is exactly what it was like when I first saw it at the theater. It was a very serious crowd there too, but by the end it was very late and we were all laughing like idiots when the milkshake scene came on. Great scene though.

i knew about the milkshake line before i got to see the movie so i was waiting for it the whole movie and then he started bowling at eli, it seemed kind of playful i didn't think he was going to kill him in the end.

actually when he killed him i still thought it was kinda funny.

Well after all he was drunk and the way he exaggerated his speech was hilarious even though the scene was supposed to be serious, and he referred to the draining of oil as a milkshake. If I said, "I'd like to go to California to get myself some gold for digging up milkshakes." Won't that be weird?

BTW, I didn't watch the movie. I know what it's about, though, so don't take my opinion too seriously ^_^ lol
