Whitney has sold 50.4million more records than Beyonce and has also been a solo artist for 26 more years than Beyonce so in all fairness comparing these 2 beautiful divas is very unreasonable as they are both from different eras... Whitney is probably 1 of Beyonce many inspirations... I'm a HUGE Beyonce fan so in my eyes she is the BEST(that's just my opinion) ^-^

I think what the poster of the video means is that Beyonce will never be respected as Whitney in terms as being a universal artist. Whitney's music appealed to a wider demographic. Young, old, black, white, gay, straight., etc. Much like Michael Jackson. Beyonce while talented and beautiful, does not have the vocal power of Whitney and her music is aimed more at the younger demographic. I do see older people listening to her music but you won't hear it on an elevator or a dentist office.

@Hotbutterflye Music has been evolving for millenia, and i think it's a bit of a generalization to say that todays generation don't know anything about music, because if you go back in time and ask Beethoven what he thought of today's generation he'd probably say that apart from one or two composers, music went bad by early 1900s. So it really is a taste thing. I know loads of amazing musicians and they are all in their 20s.

I think what the poster of the video means is that Beyonce will never be respected as Whitney in terms as being a universal artist. Whitney's music appealed to a wider demographic. Young, old, black, white, gay, straight., etc. Much like Michael Jackson. Beyonce while talented and beautiful, does not have the vocal power of Whitney and her music is aimed more at the younger demographic. I do see older people listening to her music but you won't hear it on an elevator or a dentist office.

Yes, Whitney WAS great, but Beyonce IS great and you should all move with the times. In history you can find many singers that WERE great who are now dead. I grew up with Beyonce and still it is clear that her vocals are a few levels below whitneys and mariahs when they were young. Same story with christina. When they try to sing like the old diva's they start screaming and that's not enjoyable for me at all.

@Hotbutterflye Music has been evolving for millenia, and i think it's a bit of a generalization to say that todays generation don't know anything about music, because if you go back in time and ask Beethoven what he thought of today's generation he'd probably say that apart from one or two composers, music went bad by early 1900s. So it really is a taste thing. I know loads of amazing musicians and they are all in their 20s.
