My question got cut off! So what would i need to do in order to use my tone controls to my liking? They arent dark enough. They are very nasal sounding. Very mid rangy!! Is there a cap to install or something???
@kdjfnvjvd It sounds like you have the Push-pull wired like our blender pot (mixing neck and bridge). If your tone is not to you're liking try smaller or larger values. Smaller values are more subtle and do less and larger take out more highs and mids. Call if you want more info. Lindy
Before I buy my next set of Fralin pups, I have another question. In my 54 strat I have Fralin VH pups but had a wiring harness made that allows me to use the vol knob as a push/pull pot to combine all pups when pulled out and blade in neck/middle position or neck and bridge pups combo like tele if I move the blade to neck pup position. In addition to having a tone control for bridge pup like a modern strat. My question is, The tone controls are very mid range sounding. Almost incredibly nasal
Sounds good thanks! I will order a bridge pup soon! How do you recommend setting pup height on the bridge side? I only use the bridge in my tele but I'm trying to hear more of the edgy bell tone side of the bridge pup( paisley style), but when I plug into my other amp(fender hot rod delux), I'm struggling to achieve the tone. It's like it gets buried a bit and can compensate I little by adjusting the mids. What's your pro input on this or does it even make sense?
@kdjfnvjvd I think you would like the "Vintage" output the best. These pickups like to be close so start at 1/16 from the string (when both E's are pressed down on the highest fret) and then adjust up and down for tone by ear. Lindy PS they can be brightened up a bit by using a higher value volume pot, I recently put a 300k in the guitar in this video and it gave me 2% more sparkle.
@kdjfnvjvd The "Stock" Tele set is the equivalent of the Vintage hots using the same magnets and number of turns. The "Vintage" Split blade would be the closest in the hum-canceling line. Lindy
@kdjfnvjvd These pickups are less harsh and they get maybe 2% more mids from the high strings while maintaining bright wound strings. The guitar in this video is a very resonant body and neck which also brings out midrange. Lindy
I am getting a very very muffled , no volume audio on this vid thought you should know! The guitar sounds great it's just Lindy's voice.... who needs to hear him anyway! LOL those P Us are NICE
Sounds like better clarity on the low strings and slighly rounder or darker sound on the high strings.jeez they sound spectacular. What bridge is on that tele?Callaham?
@AllenPinchloaf About the same, slightly higher than vintage Fenders. They will have brighter wound strings and fatter treble strings because each string is only picked up at one point. (humbuckers all have darker wound strings and brighter treble strings) Lindy
Hey Lindy ....thinking of doing a 3 pup Nashville project with split blades.....Neck and Bridge would be split blade tele blues specials ....middle pos would be middle strat split blade blues special ...would that work in your mind?? good combination or would you have a more effective idea??
@MartinWCarlsson We will try to find a Swedish distributor. You can try to get them from one of our other European distributors or call me and I will help. Lindy
I don't know how your comment got marked as spam, I didnt mark it. In answer to your question this guitar is a very light ash body and one of our big Allparts necks. It also has a Callaham bridge. It has quickly become one of my favorite guitars. Thanks, Lindy
WOW! This is killer! Is this neck the same as the replacement neck on your website? Body too? Also, what electronics do you recommend to use for these pickups? (types of pots and caps) Are you using Callaham parts? Thank you so much for your passion for making wonderfully musical products.

@gittar1 They are different from the Bardens in that the blades are left and right instead of both going all the way across. This makes a little brighter wound string and a little fatter treble string. Lindy
@Chrisvaughnmusic The prototypes are a way of checking the CAD files (drawings). The injection molds have been paid for for one month and they projected tooling would take 2 months. If everything goes well it should be one more month to production. Thanks, Lindy
@FralinPickups Thanks for the comment back i appreciate it, I love your model pickups and your vvt model amp. You guys are great. Cant wait to see what else you come up with in the future. Thanks.
hi....guys you have no email contact details on your website, where can i ask some questions about yer p90's? i asked at your virtualwoodshed demo's but got no answer!!!
ugh can't wait till they come out!!! my tele is basically all lindy fralin... this would be a great addition... now what to do with the original blues special bridge and 2% neck....
Congrats Lindy! (Maybe I should congratulate all we fans of the split blade). I think this is one of the best things you've come up with. I swear by your Split Blade Strat, your Real 54's, your vintage Tele Bridge and your Noiseless P-90. I'm gonna build my next Tele and wait until you release these before putting pickups in. Very cool! I'm very excited!
@FralinPickups - I work with the fine fellows at True Tone in Santa Monica, CA. I'll be bugging them to get a shipment as soon as possible. Or I just might have to call you in 5 weeks to order directly. I'll also be calling you w questions about your Tele neck. (like is it possible to custom order a lefty?) and a question about the way the fellow from "Rocketeer Studio" combined two split blades in series for a HB sound. Again, fantastic news for we tele players who get grief from engineers!
Wow real tele tone from noiseless pickups! You really did it this time Lindy!
Way better than blade styles I've heard.

oh geez i want these in my tele

I love these pickups! They "feel" like they really grab and hold the note, esp. when bending strings. Expensive, but worth every penny.

Ok so, I'm looking for something as close as possible to the Fralin VH pups that are in my strat, but for a telecaster. Do u make VH for tele?

These sound a little muted to me in comparison to regular tele single coils. I'm not sure it even sounds like a tele any more.
tanukibrahma 10 months ago
@tanukibrahma I think it sounds exactly like a tele with better mids, also when he had the volume cranked it didn't get ice picky at high end
