On peace keeping operations if they are fired on, they can fire back. In peace enforcement operations they can shoot first if need be.

@jimmyworkman swedish and irish un soldiers was in liberia. i talked to a capten how was there 2005, he said that the irish was really good soldiers, did there jobb well but the pakistanis dident do muth at all.

Vad gör UN egentligen i Liberia? Vem är "fienden" därborta? Nyfiken. Verkar som om UN är lite överallt numer: Afganistan, Iraq, Libyen.. hmm har säkert missat nått land(?)

Läste även någonstans på nätet att många (de flesta?) Afganer är emot UN-styrkorna, pga bombningar av civila? men detta kanske enbart är "fiende"propaganda? Är det inte svårt att "skydda" ett land som inte vill ha en där? känns mer som ockupation än som humanitär hjälp, men jag behöver väl läsa på lite mer..?

Liberia drabbades av ett komplicerat inbördeskrig. FN ansvarde för en fredsbevarande insats efter vapenvilan.

FN är inte i Afghanistan, Libyen eller Irak. NATO är i Afghanistan. USA plus vissa allierade är i Irak.
