Nice! Takes me right back to 1969 or 70 when I got the album for the broadway play version of Hair. Years before the movie. Thanks for the nostalgia. :)
@ScentedNectar You're welcome! I wasn't born til 77, I never saw the play, movie, etc... I had once seen a very short clip of it on the show "head of the class", and years later I came across a copy of the soundtrack on tape, must have been about 12 or 13, and fell in love with the soundtrack. I picked up a copy of the play and read it, and read about it, and to this day still have a copy of that soundtrack in my car, love to take long rides and sing along at the top of my voice! :)
This is also one of my favourite pieces of the musical but never knew the lyrics were written by Shakespeare!
And now I know I never sang the right lyrics, being dutch and 16/17 at the time, I never heard of 'infinite', 'paragon' , 'I have of late', 'mirth', 'promontory' and so on and so on. Don't know anymore whát I sang, but certainly not those words! :-)
this song cracks me up, I'm turning this into a new rick roll because it's not meant to be taken seriously

these lyrics are terrible, who wrote this shit?
samfdigital 11 months ago
@samfdigital Shakespeare. They're from Hamlet, act 2 scene 2.

@samfdigital and even without the Shakespeare context, surley anyone can see how these words coment on the nature of mankind.

Shakespeare put to music!

The words are great b/c they are from Shakespeare's Hamlet - he says them to his friends from school who come to cheer him up in Elsinore.
thanks - this is my fave song too!
