swapped my sabre for a pilot, soft and smooth every time, but sometimes a 700ft snivel is a bit too much

sabre 1 150's should be fine. it was 190's and over that had serious problems.  Thus the installment of extra break lines.

the openings on my Sabre1 150 are always very rude, but you get used to it ;-)
