  • Carla has a big, ugly, forehead

  • what is with all women wearing awful bright pink lipstick?

    blehh

  • The colour of Carlas scrubs is fabulous. =)

  • Who is Barry Barnes or Bauns or whatever Elliot says?

  • @MoogleSan She said Barry Bonds, the former left fielder from the San Francisco Giants and who has been accused of using steroids during his career.

  • @warrenator1000 Ah, non-american here. I got an extra laugh with that extra knowledge. Thanks ;D

  • Wow! This episode was perfectly planned out. The writers of this show really knew what they were doing. They even got the small things right, like JD's, or should I say "Dorothy's", red shoes.

  • I always get tears in my eyes by the end of this episode. The Blanks are awesome and I looo-ooo-ooo-ooooove (read like dr. Cox) this song!

  • I love the colours in this episode

  • Weird i didn't see no comments about how talented Ted's group is in singing!!

  • @Snowdone I don't think it's actually his group singing

  • @frank8910 Yes they are they have an actually band i think it's called The Blanks or something

  • What happened to Jordan?

  • Comment removed

  • This is probably....hell, I can't even keep track of how many times I've run through the Scrubs seasons, though I'm certain that it's far over ten.

Despite how many times I've watched these episodes over and over...I can't help but feel that love for them. This episode, My Lunch, My Tormented Mentor, My Screw Up..I seriously thought at first that Scrubs was going to be just a goofy show about silly doctors.

    Lord I was wrong.

  • First episode of Scrubs I ever saw. The first of many! What an amazing show

  • Best Episode :)

  • I love IZ's version of "Somewhere Over The Rainbow".

  • Hey can someone help me I can't subscribe to the Chanel

  • Omg i just noticed " me and toto are going home .... "

  • I love (and hate) that almost every single episode makes me laugh AND cry. Tears of heartache, tears of joy, tears from laughing so friggen hard.... and I never ever tire from it.

  • one of my favorite episodes =]

  • why is ted not making a singing carrer? great voice :O

  • @piece0of0cake um yeah his band is real. They're called The Blanks :)

  • Right at the start when janitor says "OIL CAN" that's like how the Tin Man says it in the Wizard of Oz! Also green jack is a reference to emerald city :3

  • Am I the only who thinks Ted's group is good? :P xD

  • @WaltzMooreAna no mate not at all :) they are pretty good. they got the talent

  • @WaltzMooreAna

Nah, they regularly let them play because they suck

  • @WaltzMooreAna They're an actual band called The Blanks. Look them up, the guy who plays Ted has a goatee in real life :P

  • in some weird way J.D, Doctor Kelso and Doctor Cox are kinda like the wizard of oz for the people they helped in this episode

  • Pay no attention the man behind the curtain

  • In this episode I found out that Ted really knows how to sing xD

  • J.D: Dorothy

    Elliot: Scarecrow

    Turk: The Tin Man

    Carla: Cowardly Lion

Jordan: Wicked Witch of the West

Dr Kelso: The Wizard of Oz

  • does Dr.Kelso have a golden sethiscope ? 4:45

  • the crazy thing is Jake actually looks like Jordan, but it's not her child in real life.

  • I love Teds band <3

  • I noticed one thing, the Janitor never annoys J.D when he's down, or his patient has died.

  • @Geoff900 I think thats because the janitor likes being the one to make JD mad or upset. If hes already in a bad mood then there is no fun there for the janitor

  • Everytime I watch this I find a new reference to Wizard of Oz ^^

  • my fav episode, lots of great links, ray bolger played the scarecrow i do believe.

    5/5 incredible.

  • This is episode is absolutely perfect. Unadulterated life, I'm at a loss for words :D

fyi for anyone who didn't catch it, jds shoes are painted red like the witches shoes you need to tap twice to go home

  • The Janitor is my FAVORITE character. He's soo funny with his hate for everyone and his hilarioulsy mean comments.

  • I rlly like this episode b/c I loc the wizard of oz theme!!

  • I feel bad for PinkLotus3333

  • Ray is a dum name

  • @TheRandomness96

Maybe, but it's another reference to Wizard of Oz. Ray Bolger is the name of the actor who played the Scarecrow.

  • great wizard of oz show

  • Children are like tiny cab drivers

Cox at least equaled his earlier

Children are like dogs who learn to talk

  • Great now I have to go read PinkLotus3333's comment.

  • ohhhh my godd i have just realised this is one of the few episodes that the janitor is actually doing work :O

  • this episode made brought me back to my childhood where The Wizard Of Oz played a major part and it's not the first time scrubs has managed to do that! Scrubs is just brilliant on that and so many other levels' . Ther's just no comparison on american tv. In english tv there are more of course "Black Adder", "Jeves&Wooster" or "Dads' Army" just to name a few. But i digress, well scrubs is one of the best "modern" shows!

  • ok I don't know whether it was a good idea to make that last comment, seeing as someone else got ripped apart for stating the obvious ... don't hate me for loving this episode, pleeeeeeeze :3 anyway thanks for the extra references - I didn't get the toto or the man behind the curtain - thing ... whatever, great episode :D

  • I love the Wizard of Oz references in this episode :D

Elliott - the scarecrow who needed a brain

Turk - the tin man, who wanted an heart

Carla - the lion, who tried to find courage

J.D. - Dorothy, who just wanted to GET THE HELL OUTTA HERE!! XD

oh yeah, and Jordan - the wicked witch of the east :D

  • @MomoHasMuffins there clever as heellll the beggening song in the bath tub was by toto, the shoes, there genius's or artists

  • @MomoHasMuffins did you see cox curtain refrence much like OZ?

  • @drake123josh I read the comments and realized I had missed the "man behind the curtain" :D

  • @MomoHasMuffins love this episode, because of the talent they have of hiding a whole other movie in here.

  • @drake123josh ikr? This one and "my musical" are my two favourite episodes *__* :D I love srubs ^^

  • they linked this nicely :)

  • So apparently this is a tribute to Wizard of Oz. I never watched that movie so I never knew lol. I don't know why people are bashing on PinkLotus3333's comment. Jeez people are so rude these days. "Cough" @vinnyrox2 and @remyithildntatum

  • This is definatly in my top 10 favorite episodes of scrubs :)

  • Why do the colors seem so bright in this episode. O_O

  • @KirkDonaldson12 they are set brighter for the second half of the episode in reference to the "Wizard of Oz"

  • best episode!

  • THIS IS GOLD.

  • such an excellent episode. everything tied in together, without being cheesy.

  • What happened to Sasha?

  • @Lobodomy69 omg yh ?!!

  • I dont even like The wizard of oz. But I like the scrubs version. :'D made me cry.

  • The wizard of oz idea was awesome. I liked the todo part lol

  • last night our school had the opening night for the wizard of oz. it was awesome. i play the lion. we have another show today and two shows tomorrow :D

  • @gillan: Germany is awesome!!!!!! im there !!!

  • ted's best song ever covered except for hey ya of those niggers. that one he improved by a big distance.

  • Better and more expressive and versatile as most of the Blockbusters in the movies. Very fine script with very fine actors. Greetings from Germany.

  • this episodes one of the best ones !:')

  • Best Scrubs episode!!

  • Weed is delicious. So is Scrubs. That is all.

  • This episode won a Peabody!

  • Most Scrubs episodes are great but this one is outstanding. Even most cinema movies do not reach that quality (great script, great acting, great co-stars) - it is perfect. We have hospital series here in Germany too but none of them is barely reaching the standard of Scrubs.

  • whats up with the colours in this episode

  • @krokodillemedsnabel

This episode, the 100th, is obviously a nod to The Wizard of Oz. Back when The Wizard of Oz came out color movies were very very new. In order to allow people to experience as much color as possible after years of block and white movies the studios over exposed the color. This made the colors stand out as much as possible. This was done in The Wizard of Oz. Staying true to the reference the creator of the show overexposed the color when the episode when into full WoZ mode.

  • Dr. Cox and Jack...

    they're just so adorable <3

  • I'm sure it has to do with the fact that I am a life-long theater nerd and was practically raised on Wizard of Oz. But this is one of my favorite episodes EVER!!!! :)

  • Oh wow! Great episode!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Why are his feet bright red? Ruby slippers maybe? (I haven't seen the whole of Wizard of Oz so leave me alone if that's not what they're called)

  • the harmony at the end of this episode is beautiful

  • the writers for this show are geniuses!

  • Carla judges everybody in the show, looking down on them, force feeding them advice when they didn't even ask for it, believing that she knows best about everything.

But when she has a problem, she becomes paranoid, obssesive and selfish to the point where she believes her problem is the only one worth talking about.

Sometimes i wonder if the creators of Scrubs intentionally attempted to create TV's most annoying ever character.

  • @HolyWhisp She's human, be mindful that nobodies perfect and that applies to carla who for the first few episodes seemed completelly normal out of all the main characters, People have this thing with going to those "annoying" people for advice and then act annoyed with them when the reverse happens, Carla has entered water's she's never ventured before, Marriage and parenthood, Two things she's never nor expected herself to ever experience before, anyone would be scared out their minds

  • That kid is always chewing on something. lol

  • they never did get jordan out of the east wing.....

  • i miss this show !

  • What happened to Jordan???

  • Jack looks cute when he is green..

  • By far one of the best episodes ever put together. Everything fits so perfectly together. Love Scrubs.

  • Like tiny cab drivers! LMAO!

  • On the upside, his trainers look nice red....

  • one of the best eps.

  • Ya know... Ted really is an amazing singer.

  • whitch version is somewhere over the rainbow

  • Some more Wizard of Oz reference there is a mischevious munckin: Jake, Cox's son. Dr. Cox as faux wizard behind the curtain. Dr. Cox, JD and Kelso who ultimately gives simple solutions and advice to the searchers. Scrubs! Love it Love it!

  • J.D plays two parts in this, since he, Perry and Kelso were the wizard to each person. I think it's wonderful how they wrote this. :)

  • you know i never really thought much of Ted's band, but they can actually sing really well :) they made me smile today and now i'm happy :D

  • I like how Carla's pink lipstick matches her pink scrubs....she's very pretty...

  • Ted's band is playing ukulele music here... For future reference :)

  • I love scrubs because it always ends happy! :)

  • toto is a band

  • Jack

    Is

    So

    Cute.

  • Hey you! wheres my son?

he's out on the ledge playing with the birds!

    ....

    im kidding c'mon, he's green!!!

    hahhaahahaha great line!!!

  • JD forgot Sasha...

  • Dr. Cox is the wizard. Just awesome is this show?! :D

  • @LostParady anytime captain doucebag

  • What happend to Teds massive sun allergy

  • @KiraLoveification thats not a allergy ted has very sensitive skin so he gets burned easily... and when hes up on the roof singing in dusk... and dusk sun light is very weak...

  • 0 likes. Hell yeah :D

  • great episode, they pulled off the entire show as a reference so well, the red shoes at the end actually had me clapping in my chair, bravo scrubs

  • 4:25 was just so friggin cayute! :)

  • Dr. Cox calling JD, Dorothy was a nice subtle touch.

  • very good ending

  • Also JD's red shoes.

  • Ray Bolger, the eventual donor of the heart Turk was after, is also the name of the actor who played the Scarecrow. :D

  • They did a great job filming that last scene.

  • zach braff directed this episode...and how great is it?

  • @stopdropandroll Super great.

  • Ted's band is actually pretty good :D

  • alot of the references were pretty obvious...unless you've never really watched Wizard of Oz much.

  • One of my favourite episodes! (:

  • the gigantic pothole disappeared

  • Scrubs is so clever

  • Why does ted keep trying to kill him self? Hes so talented lol

  • Does anyone else notice that the janitor painting JD's shoes red is also like Dorothy's red shoes in the Wizard of Oz?

    This episode is just genius!!

  • if ted's band were to come up with a cd, id definitely buy it!

  • @enika1986 - They have. It's called "Riding the Wave". Their covers of "Hey Ya" and "Over the Rainbow" have been released too.

  • my favorite episode EVER<3

  • Teds acapella band is incredible.

  • @TheAliceAndAnnieShow I know, it just made me excited x)

  • such a genius episode! Ray Bolger played the scarecrow in the real Wizard of Oz

  • It's great theat at the end Dr. Cox calls J.D Dorothy whilst Ted sings the wizard of Oz theme!

  • Definitely one of my favorite episodes--great from beginning to end! Thanks for the upload :-)

  • lol at 4:23 it looks like jack is trying to strangle Cox

  • I love that image of Dr Cox and Jack, when he hugs his neck and their both smiling at the camera.

  • but whats with Jordan?

  • "if i ever need to feed the parking meter, i just check the diaper, dont i?"

"theyre loud, u cant understand them... theyre like tiny cab drivers"

    i love cox!!

  • Comment removed

  • what happened to JD's scooter?

  • @soldier91010 it got lost in that huge puddle thing

  • @soldier91010 most likely still in that underground canal system the janitor runs lol

  • omg this episode is like the wizard of oz: jd's speakers are called toto just like dorothys dog, like the cycloon that took dorothy jd is paged to the hospital, his red sneakers are like her ruby slippers, jd like dorothy wants to get home, jd is called dorothy, jordan is the wicked witch of the east wing, turk is like the tin man looking for a heart, carla is like the lion looking for courage, elliot is like the scarecrow looking for the brains, and they follow a yellow brick road! so clever!

  • @PinkLotus3333 it was actually his ipod and he was listening to toto

  • @PinkLotus3333 omg you are a genius sir. how did you EVER figure that out? i mean, just what gave it away? /sarcasm

  • @PinkLotus3333 JD doesn't call the speakers Toto, at the beginning of the episode he was relaxing in the bath and listening "Africa" by the band Toto on his iPod, and he wants to go home to resume that since it's his day off... That's why he says "Toto and I are going home" showing his iPod, of course this is used as Dorothy's dog reference since the ep is a Wizard of Oz tribute...

  • @PinkLotus3333 And doctor Cox is the Wizard of Oz (pay no attention to the man behind the curtain)

  • Comment removed

  • @PinkLotus3333 OMG, i didnt get any of those references!!! they werent obvious or anything!!!!! thanks a bunch!!!!

  • @PinkLotus3333

The band JD's listening to is called Toto, not his speakers.

  • @PinkLotus3333 Jordan melting like the wicked witch of the east, dr cox as the wizard of Oz (the man behind the curtain

  • @PinkLotus3333 and jordan is the queen that melt in the water.. you got right it's brilliant ep!

  • @PinkLotus3333 yeah i think they purposely did that....

  • @PinkLotus3333 That was the point?????

  • @PinkLotus3333 yeah i left like this same comment on the last video without reading this one its insane how alike we are in that way

  • @PinkLotus3333 also hes talking the band that sings the song africa called toto

  • @PinkLotus3333 also hes talking the band that sings the song africa called toto oh i realised he saw a manatee also called a sea cow and dorthy saw a cow fly throught the vortex wow they jst cramed it all into this one

  • @PinkLotus3333 Duh. Everyone knows all that. That's the whole point of the episode.

  • @PinkLotus3333 state the obvious much....

  • @vinnyrox2 Not everyone has seen wizard of oz (not everyone is american)

  • @Puuta13 That makes sense, maybe if their a fan of this show, it will encourage them to go see The WIzard of OZ :)

  • @vinnyrox2 I'm glad he or she stated it tho, i didn't know there were that many allusions to wizard of oz, mainly because i didn't read or watch it :P

  • @PinkLotus3333 dude toto is a band...

  • @PinkLotus3333

and dr. cox's son is painted green like a munchkin?

  • @PinkLotus3333 they also increased the contrast to make it similar to the colored part of the movie
